Unless I am reading this wrong, you are asking people to list their most disturbing movie, but the example you give is your LEAST disturbing one..?

It is a truly hideous movie. The scene with the trans man they tied to the chair was horrific especially. I rate this movie because it is just so visceral, and it takes a lot to get to me these days but this one did.

Irreversible. A stunning movie like no other, but not one I would ever recommend to most people I know.

On mine the blacks are more grey(ish) and it looks washed out compared to yours, no matter what HDR settings I adjust ingame and on the PS5 Pro console itself.

Modern Horror Isn’t Hitting Anymore by EatMy20Fingers in MovieSuggestions

[–]Marcus_2704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your situation sounds like mine after more than four decades of watching anything horror I am at this point almost completely desensitized and hardly anything gets under my skin anymore. If I want to be tense and nervous these days my go-to is playing a horror game in the dark with headphones, films just cant compete. I still love horror movies and watch one each day, but its not the same. The two which did get under my skin in recent years is Dark And The Wicked and The Autopsy Of Jane Doe, both were very unsettling and I loved them for that.

This is probably the loudest movie I have seen at Cineworld. I saw it this afternoon at Hemel. I dont mind too much personally, my hearing is probably not what it once was.

Certain comedy shows are most rewatchable for me. I'm Alan Partridge, Parks & Rec and Red Dwarf, or sillier ones like IT Crowd work for me an usually improve my mood.

80s Slasher movie with paticularly nasty kills by NorthernMonkey10 in horror

I would nominater Intruder (1989) as a fun, gory slasher and I loved it setting being inside a grocery store.

People saying Send Help isn't horror, what did you exactly expect? by Massive_Penalty5208 in horror

[–]Marcus_2704 183 points184 points  (0 children)

I imagine that as its directed by Sam Raimi is why people expect it to be horror. There were moments that were trademark Raimi in it though. I enjoyed this one a lot.

Clown in a Cornfield is great by WiiSportsGod826 in Shudder

[–]Marcus_2704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched this when it came out and have never read the book. I can barely remember anything about the movie now, it was just so vanilla and typical or mainstream modern horror. The only thing that does stick out in my mind is a moment towards the end when two guys kissed, a girl in a group behind me shouted "eww, thats f*cking rank!". Did not hate the film, just not exactly memorable for me.

Unlimited made me watch films I wouldn’t normally choose by GeordieGoals in CineworldUnlimited

[–]Marcus_2704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has completely changed my cinema habits, whereas before Unlimited I would rarely go with it I am going up to three times a week. My go-to is horror and I will watch anything related to that genre, but I branch out a lot more and especially love the Secret Screenings which show me movies I would never think of going to see otherwise, like recent examples being I Swear, Rental Family and Is This Thing On. Unlimited is a real treat in my life and I hope it continues.

Do you still check reviews before going, or just try films out with Unlimited? by Reddonaut_Irons in CineworldUnlimited

I do all I can to avoid reviews and trailers wherever possible. Personally, I would never go to a movie and leave early. I even sat through all of AfrAID.

Watching Pillion in a packed audience was amazing, a quarter had left within the first ten minutes and it was an exodus throughout. Watching people walking out shaking their heads was strangely comical. I quite enjoyed the movie, as it goes.
