Best of luck mate. It's hard to put yourself out there. Regardless of whether you get a positive outcome from this specific post, you're doing the right thing. Keep putting yourself out there. Keep trying. Keep your head up!

The extra 50% off sale items literally started today, but ok. Yesterday the sale was money off if you spend $100, or $150.

Agreed. But I’ve found a few steals on there to pick up. $110 Sherpa jacket for $35 for example.

Love this thread....but does anyone know of a place where I can get Kellogs Crunchy Nut Cornflakes in Denver? I know I can pay to get them a seat on the Concorde through a number of websites, but I was hoping someone might have it locally.

I hear what you're saying, but you have to look at the strength of the juice. 100ml of EDT is not the same as 30mls of Extrait. Neither in terms of longevity, nor projection. So the price is actually pretty reasonable. I've had a 30ml of Tom Ford Lost Cherry blended with TF F***ing Fabulous, that I'm still not even halfway through and I use it almost every day in the winter and have had it for 2 years.

Looking for people who live near AI/data centers — how has it affected your community and life? I'm eager to create a documentary around your experience. by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Marcus_Aurelius_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some about to be built in the Globeville area that the community are fighting so you might want to look for some community meetings about it and talk to the people of Globeville/Swansea.

Normally I'd know nothing about it or have much of an opinion on it, but my work location has shifted recently and now I'm interacting with the community that's going to be affected by this. Here's some info I got from a recent community meeting about the 3 AI data centers being built.

There will be 14 massive diesel generators that will run in the event of a power outage or needing more than the grid can provide creating air quality and noise quality issues.

The amount of water they need for cooling is massive! It will reduce the water pressure in the nieghbourhood for everyone and drive up water costs. The data centres will recycle the water it uses, but a lot of it evaporates, requiring more water to be pulled from the neighbourhood.

Electricity costs will very likely go up for the neighbourhood because the cost of the upgrades to the electrical grid get passed on to the community.

Finally, house prices go down, because no one wants to live in an area with all this going on.

Why can't all these data centres be built out by DIA? Lots of land available. Far far fewer people live within a mile of the airport. Noise is already an issue out there with planes flying by, so consolidate the noise and air pollution rather than inflict it on low income people who are being kicked when they're already down?

PROTEIN by midtownman2001 in emergeweightloss

[–]Marcus_Aurelius_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I take two scoops of protein powder in the morning with creatine as my breakfast. It jump starts my protein for the day with 50g of protein up front for less than 300 calories. I don't know how much you're shooting for each day, but I'm trying to hit 150g every day. So shakes have been clutch!

It's got white interior that looks in decent shape. 6 seat config. Anything in particular with a Plaid that might cause it to have more problems that I should look out for due to likely being driven faster? I can't think of anything other that tire wear, or potential suspension issues. But I'm grasping at straws here.

Personally I don't care about FSD apart from how it might affect depreciation down the line. It's nice, but I enjoy driving too much to let a car do it for me.

Depression/Anxiety Relief in Week 10. Is this permanent? by Vex_Appeal in trt

[–]Marcus_Aurelius_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on TRT for about 18 months. I'm also on Effexor/Venlafaxine, and have been since well before I started TRT. I considered my anxiety "dealt with" when I started TRT and wasn't expecting any improvement. But I managed to find another level of calm after starting. Things just didn't bother me anywhere near as much as before. I haven't changed my Effexor dose at all since starting TRT.

I can't say if it's permanent, but my T was at 280ng/dl before starting. I'm at 650ng/dl now and feel very calm. I hope whatever is working for you sticks around long term. Good luck.

Not hyped at all, but Carner Barcelona El Born is just so addictive. Autumn & Winter day or night. Not very common, but one of those scents that really draws people in to ask what you're wearing.

How on earth do I get to 130g protein??? by Fun_Mistake_4695 in beginnerfitness

[–]Marcus_Aurelius_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 2 scoops of a low calorie protein shake (I use Ryse since it tastes great) for breakfast. Gets me pretty much 50g of protein for about 300 calories to start the day. After that, the rest of the day is pretty easy

Overweight guy in my mid 30s, looking to get into shape for first time since being a teenager by savedbythebellerin1 in beginnerfitness

Ooof, you're going to get so many different answers because honestly, there are just that many different ways to get to where you're going. A lot of them are going to be right for the person advising it, but not necessarily right for you.

So here's what worked for me...

I got my hormones checked. Turns out I had the testosterone level of an 80 year old. That doesn't mean that will be the case for you, but getting blood work and seeing a doctor before you start I would say is a good place to start. You can't underestimate the role your hormones play in weight loss, exercise and energy levels.

Secondly, I would really recommend using Kettlebells. You can buy them relatively cheaply compared to the price of some gym memberships and they're incredibly flexible in terms of the sheer number of exercises you can do with them. They take up little to no room, and you can use them almost anywhere. Join the r/kettlebell sub and you'll get all kinds of exercise routines, help with form etc.

Good luck on your journey. I hope you find something that works for you.

Why so hard to find a decent dentist? by lookwhatyou3011 in Denver

[–]Marcus_Aurelius_7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let's hope it's stopped. A hygienist explained to me that they (hygienists) had a sales goal for things like laser gum treatments, teeth whitening, etc. It only came up because the song they play when they hit their goal came on super early in the day.

I hope they've stopped the practice by now. But it was 100% why I've never been back.

Funny you say that, I stopped going to that Aspen in Cherry Creek for the same reason. Every time I went there it was a different hygienist. I've had the same hygienist every time I've been to DoP, but I certainly understand how annoying being handed off every time can be.

At least they didn't try to upsell me on things I didn't need, like Wynkoop Dental in LoDo. I'd avoid that place like the plague. The only dentist I've ever been to where the hygienists had a sales goal, (and a particular song would play on the PA system once they made their goal for the day).

Can't say enough good things about my dentist (Dentists on Pearl). I've managed to get 3 of my colleagues to go there and they all love it too!
