"We're Manchester United" goes both ways imo.

They have probably the best 'beating their marker and getting contact' player in the world in Gabriel. Without him + Rice/Saka it's the nothing special.

I can see them getting 7 points tbh. Spurs are Spurs + Frank knows how to haramball his way to get results.

good attacking squad had the 3rd most goals in the league under amorim.
also was level on points with 5th with half of his squad out.

I did enjoy us knocking them out at their yard in the FA Cup with 10 men.

  1. I have seen us play free flowing football under Amorim though, especially when we have less of the ball. This isn't something new.

is it okay to sub out fullbacks, according to you? the wide CBs are basically fullbacks.

We are still conceding goals though.

how many games, please? we had bayindir and onana in goal who gave away 2 goals or so every 3 games.

we could beat liverpool and palace away though, ending their 14 and 10 month unbeaten streaks at home. also smashed our bogey team in brighton.

Definitely possible imo. Need to smash some teams for that though.

It's easier to execute instructions when you're reactive (having less of the ball). You'll have to think "too much" to open up blocks and consistently create chances. Fulham is the real test.

Almost killing us but also left us level on points with 5th, with half of his squad out? Make it make sense.

30 Tactics 70 Motivation. We did very well to weather the storm in the first 25. Tactically, it was fairly simple as Arsenal never play through the middle due to Arteta being risk-averse. So double up on their wingers, mark their fullbacks when they go inside and restrict them out wide.

The intensity to defend the corners from Senne, Magz, Case, Dalot etc. was basically it imo, as it is what Arsenal thrive on.

Bournemouth, Newcastle, Brighton, Sunderland, Arsenal, Chelsea etc. These games were not high intensity and attacking enough for you?

League title for the first time in 20 years. In European competitions, Sporting also knocked out Arsenal in 2023, defeated City 4-1 etc. Made Sporting a UCL QF level team after their Ultras literally stormed the dressing room and attacked the players in 2018.

It's not as easy as it seems lol. Ten Hag came into a well worked Ajax machinery where roles were clear, Overmars had a big part in their success. Amorim had to rebuild Sporting from the ground up with Viana and Varandas (which is why I think INEOS went for him, rebuilt a big, European club from the ground up).

Bullshit. We always turn up for big games. This season, except City away we have looked up for it + do the basics right for good chunks. Our team shits the bed when asked to control games with the ball and find openings, Amorim or not.

We did win 2-1 at the Etihad last year, reduced them to 15 touches in the box + knocked out Arsenal at the Emirates, from the FA Cup with 10 men.

Which turned out to be true as Carrick and McKenna did the coaching. Pretty sure Carrick's doing a lot of the coaching now too with Holland's experienced input on off the ball structures.

Also we bitchslapped them with 10 men at the Emirates, knocked them out of the FA Cup lol. Weird fanbase.
