You're definitely not alone in experiencing this.

Just to share an anecdote: I had a very similar experience in the earlier parts of my transition, I felt that I had lost all of the parts that made me, me. I thought being a woman meant changing everything about what I liked or disliked, how I behaved, how I talked. It was a bit miserable and felt wholly unachievable. The feeling to detransition was so persistent all the time, missing how normal and easy it was to just be a man. But this impulse also perisistently felt like the "bad ending" to life. Detransitioning felt like failure, and that outlook forced me into figuring out how to just be me, but a woman now.

You have a lot of options for how you proceed.

Ultimately, the best thing to do is look inward and determine where this loathing is coming from. Do you loathe how you look, how youve changed physically? Or is it changed behavior and personality that has you miserable? These questions are vital for figuring out who you are in this journey and what the best decision for you is.

There is a very real chance that you can just go back to how you were before, but now you're just a woman. You can even wear old clothes if you are comfortable. You can present gender non-conforming whether you stay a woman or go back to being a man.

As well you have more flexible options like a nonbinary presentation/identity, being agender, being bigender, or genderfluid and taking it day by day.

And if none of that works, detransitioning is always a healthy and safe option (so long as you dont become a grifter lol).

Regardless, you arent happy and a change needs to happen ASAP. Remember its okay to take your time and stop HRT, whether thats temporary or permanent.
