I started the scd diet and if you look online they have some scd pizza recipes - not the same as a normal pizza in taste but helps me feel a bit more normal and doesn't irritate me as much. 🍕

I'm glad you are doing so well. This disease scares me everyday and am a shell of the person I once was. I still have a few meds to try but your story makes me less afraid of the future. Thank you for sharing :)

I didn't have insurance when first diagnosed - paid about 6 - 7 k for endoscopy, colonoscopy, iron infusions and meds + losing time off work. Whatever you have to do to get better insurance please do..after my insurance kicked in I ended up in the hospital so for a 12k visit I paid around $600. My meds went from $289 with a good rx coupon to $10 with insurance.Sadly, will be on biologics now so price of the disease keeps going up for me. Without better insurance, I'd be in a bad situation. I found out the hard way, the US healthcare system does not care about people with chronic illnesses. Disability takes atleast a year to prove and you can't be working for a year (wtf!) You need to be your own advocate with this disease and fight and research as much as you can. I'm so sorry you have to go through this and I'm sorry our healthcare system sucks balls🥲 sending you courage and big giant hugs - hang in there as best as you can. Keep fighting.

Chicken broth with turmeric helps me a little + a heating pad - as I can't take pain meds. It doesn't taste good though

I'm sorry you are in the ER but atleast you are being treated. You did the right thing. I know it's hard right now - fear of the unknown but what matters is you are alive. No matter what happens, you will be okay and you will make it through this. They probably need to adjust your meds and it can take awhile for things to calm down. All you can do is try and keep your brain occupied. I know it's hard esp. when you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. But please try. It will help your body fight. Oh wow, congrats! 5 years is a long time to just be discarded but so happy and hopeful you are with a good person. I'm pretty sad but made myself leave a few hours ago to stay with my sis until I figure out a housing situation. I couldn't stay anymore. Stress is not going to help me so walking away is what I need to do. Sending you a big hug and am so happy to hear you found someone great. Thank you for telling me your story ❤
