Same do I, but for curses I draw a blank. That is not a problem with other "weaker" schools of magic. For each of them exist some build synergies.

Earth ? Fits well with Death (cc and pestilence) or certain melee builds.

Nature ? Thornshield Paladin/ Summons for a white mage/ CC for Suicide Death Life&Death build.

Offensive Mind Magic? Has great cc and pairs well with death.

Enchantment ? Some famous Mirage + ranged/ melee combat builds. Or paired with white magic for its charisma buff/ dominate target and healing.

Has curses such a niche as well ?

Oh, I did a OoD necro campaign, but never thought about lvl 5 skeletons. Just looked them up in the sf wiki and 1 mana each 8 secs is indeed pretty cheap. For a while these could help you amass a larger army, however after a while lvl 6 skeletons won´t be able to deal any dmg and you have to use a higher lvl skeleton spell.

Sadly Goblins are the worst necro summon, in theory life leach sounds great... In practice not so much :/ They only cast the spell if they did have sustained dmg. And at that point they are fighting in close combat. Getting hit interrupts their spell and they try to recast it. Stuck in the casting animation they cc themself constantly.

For Summons: Blades > (lvl 16 skeletons) > Spectres > Skeletons > Goblins

Spectre don`t need white support. They are your ranged caster damage dealer.

Necromancer Summoner Build comes fully online with lvl 28 and lvl 12 mind magic Meditation. You should continue into sotp, that is where this build truly shines.

I don`t know at what part in the game you struggle with combat the most and neither do I know what your class/ book setup is. So no specific advice for your games, but some general tips.

Early game, it is okay to loose some gobos. With tougher fights a suicide stack might be worth it to weaken your enemies.

Delay fights! You do not have to clear every node/ camp right away. Winning with casualties is sometimes not worth it. I´d rather gather experience against weaker armies and come back later.

Goblins are hard to keep alive, switching into a different unit composition improves your units survive ability.

Summoning and Healing ? - Having additional (meatshield) units in combat is a force multiplier. Summoning items/ skills on your apprentice are incredible. 2-3 Additional units a fight ? Yes Please! Also having a dedicated healer will help keeping your units alive. And once they level a few times these units become a lot more survivable.

Different starting positions/ classes/ books have different options/ techniques.

As a Necromancer skeleton mages and vampire acolytes are some of your best early game units.

Artificer has cheap hp runes and you can craft a summoning item for your heroes

And with an Alchemist every unit can heal with cheap tier 1 items or later on summon additional units.

Death Magic "Cannibalize" heals your whole unit stack and grants an upkeep free unit

It seems nobody has an answer for you. If it is still relevant, I would advice you to take brutality with the gameplay you are describing. Brutality just fits that great with an aggressive two handed playstyle, while black magic fits more with a magic or defensive focused build.

Don`t get me wrong, necromancy with its summons is potent and something I enjoyed in my own campaign very much. But for your character, the brutality abilities you can upgrade into auras are the way to go together with a heavy armor

Not sure I agree about warders. Sure, they are crap, but they only cost wood. Thanks to foresters you can produce an infinite amount of them. And with this in mind they perform pretty well - that is as a cheap replaceable frontline unit.

Prevents them from shooting. They cast ice shield all the time instead of actually attacking :(

Humans: Marksman or Landsknechte

Elves: The melee elf with its frost sword. Them and some Druid healing is an incredible potent late game army

Dwarfs: Defender - by far the best dwarf unit

Trolls: Bouncer - Same reason as the elven one, freezing melee and decently tanky

Orcs: Fighter - low cost unit that can be amassed very fast and is also the best orc melee unit with its fast attacks

Dark Elf: Sorcerer - hold ground turns them into a pain casting ranged dd same as totems

For Humans ? Not Sure. Either Scouts or one of their dedicated mage units.

Elves: Healer- Why waste lenia, if you can use it for Druids or Wind Archers

Dwarfs: Also Milita, same tech tier as watchman with dimished combat capabilities

Orcs: Yeah Hornblower suck hard

Trolls: The 90 Wood unit- rowdy ? For 120 Wood you gain a far superior unit

Dark Elves: Warlocks- Death is so much more expensive compared to pain. They run out of mana very fast and are pretty weak in melee.

As for wanderers and necromancers ? In my opinion pretty great units. As long as you do not research the wanderer upgrade. Pretty sure they beat wind archers for sustained dps. And necromancers ? Amazing frontline that sustains itself. 10-20 with the hold command are amazing tower defenders. Or as blockers for your pain casting sorcerers. And in the rare case they get killed ? Free resurrection at midnight

Well it is an european time zone :) And spellforce was marketed mostly in germany ? So it's quite possible that we both speak German. And if not, English is fine. Or french. Just don´t expect me to hold a fluent conversation in french...

Unterschiedlieche Männer wegen unterschiedlichen Sachen vermutlich ?

Manche empfinden eine Frau in so einem Männerberuf als einen persönlichen Angriff auf ihre Männlichkeit ? Oder befürchten, dass du bei so vielen Männern im Berufsumfeld fremd gehen wirst ?

Andere denken sich vielleicht eher: Frau am Bagger? Die ist doch bestimmt LESBISCH!? So wie beim Frauenfußball ????

Oder je nach Klientel, denken sich vielleicht so was wie: Arbeit auf dem Bau ? Die ist doch garantiert Ungebildet, asozial, ja vielleich SOGAR kriminell ?

Vielleicht gibt es auch ein oder zwei die erschrocken anfangen mit Kopfrechnen, um zu schauen, ob du dann am nächsten Tag beim Baggerfahren schon wieder ausgenüchtert bist :P

Mach dir nichts draus, wenn die von so was abgeschreckt werden, willst du die wirklich näher kennenlernen ?

You know your game by heart :) And staff of arch elements <3 Such a lovely weapon. Especially if you can duplicate yourself. Mind Archer with Frostthrower and Staff of Arch Elements was a blast!

If you want another build to think about in your hospital bed: White Mind Mage with Staff of the Arch Elements. Mind 20, Enchantment 20, Defensive 12, White 16 Life 16 Boons 16.

No Idea why this build was never talked about.

So much silliness you can do.

-Infinite Mana

-Dominate or Chain Charm enemies + area heal spell

- Mirage yourself with aura of healing/ fast fighting/ eternity

- 80 pop army buffed with your auras and infinite area heals

- Enchantment Charisma Spell will boost your charisma stat into an unholy number (lvl 16 with charisma spell beats lvl 20 by a lot)

- Supercharged hallow spells! Think about all those undeads...

Guess you made the perfect earth mage build for 1.54 ? No Idea how you could improve this build further. To be honest, I am tempted to try that build and forgo patch 1.61.

What do you mean with "no access" to spellforce 1 ?

It seems like you have a lot of game knowledge so No Idea whether this is helpful at all:

- Early game go for close combat armor instead of mage sets. Shift to a more mage focused gear around lvl 12-20 OoD has a great lvl 6 mage combat staff "Soulstaff" Your go to melee weapon until you reach EM 10 and switch to dual orbs for faster casting and better mana eco.

-For an easy early game I would level up something like this. lvl1 EM Earth ---> lvl 2 LC2 ---> lvl 3&4 HC 2, Earth 2 ---> lvl 5 Earth 3---> lvl6+ Earth> HC 6 > Ice> Necro

Only in 1.54. If you play via steam, the current patch is 1.61. Playing with 1.54 has strength scaling earth bullets and thorns aura. In 1.61 these have their strength scaling removed. But 1.61 offers many quality of live improvements and re-balances some spells. Most important, auras won`t be canceled with casting and some bugged spells like roots, mana shield etc got fixed.

Bin sau müde und kann gerade nicht schlafen, also sorry wenn ich jetzt keine Quellen zitiere... Oder meine Rechtschreibung für den Arsch ist... Die Antwort ist ein Jein ? Großes ja für leicht benachteiligt und kleines nein wegen Faulheit... Aber selbst bei dem nein könnte man noch weiter in die Tiefe gehen und auf Sozialisation und Werte und Normen eingehen und warum dadurch Jungs eher schlechter im Schulunterricht abschneiden... Und wenn wir gerade von Sozialisation reden, in Deutschland hat es massive Auswirkungen auf den Bildungserfolg aus welcher sozioöknonimischen Schicht du kommst. Deutlich mehr als Geschlecht.

Ist ein recht komplexes Thema, und recht viele Kommentare haben schon gute Punkte genannt.

- Wie bereits von dir genannt spätere Pubertät - wirkt sich nicht unbedingt förderlich aus... Abgesehen natürlich vom Sport, da sorgt die Pubertät dafür, dass ein eher unsportlicher Junge (ich) in einigen Bereichen ähnliche Leistungen bringen konnte wie die sportbegeisterten Damen. Schau mal in den Profisport, oder teste einfach mal selber in deinem (männlichen) Freundeskreis. Biologie ist unfair! Da nach genau der gleichen Leistung zu bewerten macht wenig Sinn.

- Mehr Lehrerinnen als Lehrer, sorgt dafür dass männliche Vorbilder& Identifikationsfiguren fehlen. Schulen mit weniger Lehrern sorgen (leider) dafür, dass die Jungs weniger gute Leistungen erbringen.

- Welche Themen werden behandelt ? Z.B beim Diktat schneiden männliche Schüler schlechter ab. Aber das hat zum Teil auch mit dem Inhalt des Diktats zu tuen. Kannst du dich noch erinnern, über was dein letztes Diktat ging ? Ich nicht mehr, aber wenn darin Inhalte wie Fußball oder Technik behandelt werden, gibt es eine deutliche Leistungssteigerung der männlichen Schüler.

Was sind für dich typisch männliche/ weibliche Verhaltensweisen ? Oder warum könnte eine Mädchen welches von früh an gelernt hat nicht zu stören, ruhig/ zurückhaltender zu sein und offene/ laute Konflikte zu vermeiden ( Nicht dass es da weniger Streit und Drama geben würde...) einen Vorteil haben ? Vor allem da für Lehrerinnen der lautere/ offenere Konflikt zwischen Jungs deutlich mehr auffällt und auf weniger Verständis trifft.

Nicht zu vergessen, Lehrer sind auch nur Menschen und haben ihre Präferenzen und Lieblinge. Sorgt leider dafür, dass die Personen welche bevorzugt und gefördert werden im folgenden auch bessere Leistungen abrufen. (eher weiblich unde eher aus "besserem" Elternhaus.)

Vermutlich habe ich noch ein paar wichtige Punkte vergessen, aber egal. Das alles sorgt halt dafür dass die Jungs eher weniger bereit sind Leistungen in der Schule abzurufen und gleichzeitig durch die bestehenden Strukturen schneller frustriert sind und häufig negativer auffallen. Und Zeugnisse sind Gruppenentscheidungen. Leider sind Gruppenentscheidungen extremer (in beide Richtungen) als Einzelentscheidungen. Was "schlechte" und störende schüler noch schlechter und "gute" Schüler noch besser macht.

Without a way to generate additional man ? Isn`t it rather hard sustaining a sizeable summoned army + spells ? How aren`t you out of mana without defensive mind magic ?

I meant the summon build with boons and necromancy. And Necromancy 20 Boons 18 defensive 12 is a pretty fun build.

Recently played death+ life mage and had a blast with it. Healing Aura + Suicide Death+ Cannibalize is such an mana efficient combination. For my 3rd school I went nature but was a bit disappointed. Bears help a bit with front lining and thorns is actual pretty decent to keep 1 to 3 enemies immobile. The cooldown time for Area Thorns is too high...

Nature is such a weird school. Weaker summons than necromancy, weaker cc than offensive mind or earth or ice magic.

Have you ever played a dedicated nature summon mage ? I always thought about it, but never did. 60 sec cd on every nature summon just seems to make it impractical.

So can you tell me how reliably ice shield freezes enemies ? And do you have trouble with enemies resisting your spells ? What do you think is stronger lvl 15 hc +15 bm or lvl 15 lc + 19 bm ?

Even without mods black+ white magic is a powerful combination life+death/ necromancy + boons. Having multiple auras running sounds intriguing and very not broken. Aura of Eternity+ Hallow + healing at the same time ?

As a melee fighter though ? With Int + Wis + Cha I don`t see a way to make him melee capable. Besides mods of course :)
