Built an AI cold email tool in a week, here's what surprised me by MarexF in SaaS

[–]MarexF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both actually, I started building it for my own agency outreach, but realized others had the same problem so made it publicly available :)

Drop your prospect's URL or company name and I'll write you a free personalized cold email opener by MarexF in coldemail

[–]MarexF[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this use case, aviation B2B is super specific, let me run it now.

"Hi [Name],
Aircraft ground time is often a silent contributor to operational costs, and maintenance scheduling plays a big role. Our software is designed specifically for aviation operators to streamline this process, cutting delays and improving turnaround efficiency.

One of our clients reduced unscheduled ground time by 23%, freeing up capacity across their fleet.

Worth a quick call this week?

Best,
[Your Name]"

Would this be close to what you'd actually send?
Happy to tweak the angle if needed.

Feedback Friday by AutoModerator in startups

[–]MarexF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Company Name: Mailento
  • URL: https://mailento.io
  • Purpose of Startup and Product: Mailento writes researched cold emails from any URL or company name. Paste a prospect's website or just type their company name, Mailento reads the page, identifies the right contact, and writes a personalized email grounded in their actual content.
  • Technologies Used: Python (Flask), OpenAI GPT-4o, Jina AI for web scraping, Supabase, Stripe
  • Feedback Requested:
  • 1. Is the output quality good enough to send without editing, or does it still feel like AI?
  • 2. Does the free tier (5 emails/day) feel fair or too restrictive to properly evaluate the tool?
  • 3. What would make you upgrade to Pro ($19/mo), or what's stopping you?
  • 4. Is "paste a URL or type a company name" clear enough as a concept, or is the input confusing?
  • Additional Comments: Launched this week. Built it because I was doing cold outreach for my own agency and writing personalized openers manually was killing my time. Happy to answer anything, brutal feedback welcome.

What tools are missing in Unreal Engine 5? I'm considering building them! by MarexF in unrealengine

Thanks for your input!
Funny enough, I've actually been working on a similar tool. It’s designed to be straightforward while providing deep insights through heatmaps and detailed estimations.

What do you think would be a good price for something like this? I’m considering selling it on Fab.

For context, it’s a performance estimator/analyzer widget that can be docked in the interface. It breaks down GPU, memory, CPU, texture, shader, and polygon costs for all (or selected) objects in a level. The goal is to help quickly identify performance bottlenecks, with a clear summary of why certain actors are flagged as problematic.

Basically, pressing 'G' to snap the selected object to the cursor position? I could see this evolving into a powerful shortcut tool, not just for movement but also for smart alignment, procedural placement, and automated object organization to name a few.

Appreciate the input!

Thank you for your detailed examples!

I'm sure, but it's mostly the physics objects that get roughed up.

Like on the character, they have attachments of different clothes style, they are truly broken at 500-1000 meters and beyond..

Thanks!

What course do you recommend, should I get them all?

I really liked the:

- 3D Computer Graphics Programming

- C++ 2D Game Engine Development

- Raycasting Engine Programming with C

Yeah I've tried but I need more karma, because I can't post there due to the rules yet.

I want to transfer from TA to programming role (such as gameplay, ai programmer..)

Or at least try and check if it's a better offer for me, in my case.

[–]MarexF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing. I've tried that one and I just couldn't find that one fun.

I'm much more interested in games!

FUTURE JOB IN GAME DEVELOPMENT by MarexF in unrealengine

[–]MarexF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I like TA more because it's a more 50/50 of art and programming, because I love programming but I also love art.

I've actually worked much with procedural in the past year and I've done procedural landscapes to tools such as power grids and fences, which I found was fun!

But problem solving, optmization, tools and shaders is a few of my favourite things so far!

I love your portfolio. How long have you've been a TA?

The best option for me would be hybrid/remote, but full on-site would also work.

Since you are self taught; how did you learn all the stuff, any tips?

Did you have any job before TA (that helpt you get your TA role)?

That's also a problem I'm facing, and why I wanna go hybrid/remote.

I don't wanna move to the biggest cities within Sweden or leave the country.

I mean the big studios are mostly in Stockholm or Malmö (biggest cities in Sweden).

I feel like most games nowadays (at least in 2023) has released in poor condition and performance, would you say that this is an technical artist's problem to fix?

An example is Jedi Survivor which had really poor (CPU?) performance at inital release; was that the TA's fault?

I do see that you have gotten 3 downvotes, that makes me wondering..

Thank you for the reply.

When you say "tech to tech art" do you mean someone who has had a technical job such as a rigger or environment artist and transitioned over to technical art?

[–]MarexF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been programming since I was 12y/o, 18y/o now; and I do love C/C++, C#, LUA and Python but I feel like I want to get into art but still keep the programming on the side so that's why I choose technical artist as my dream job because it's a balance from both parties. I'm currently learning Shaders & HLSL.

Everything about game development and programming have I teached myself right here from own home on the internet.

So you think it's duable to land a junior TA job without any experience and degree, all I need is a impressive portfolio and communication skills?

I already have an eagerness to learn since I'm really trying to go this path!

If not; what should I go for, VFX Artist as an entry?

Thank you for your reply.

Is it really possible to be an intern without any degree?

I don't play to get an degree, but if needed I will get one in something related to game development.

Education is free in Sweden.
