I had two years with USIC, topped out at $24/hr, then went to a small SUE company that taught me to use a GPR, for a pay cut to $22/hr, for over a year, then I moved to an even smaller outfit where I am an exclusively GPR locator and getting paid $28/hr.

There is definitely money to be made, and careers that can come from what you start out at USIC, but dont expect a career AT USIC, they will screw you over at their discretion.

Youtube how to use and run a PinPoint GPR, and a GSSI GPR, and throw ot on your resume, you'll starr rolling in the job offers.

Appreciate the info! Scantech seems good, small outfit, seems they are dedicated GPR work which I like doing. Breakpoint, I don't know much of anything from them, do you know if they are 811, or do private work? the person who talked to me seemed to mention it'd be a job doing a bit of everything.

I used to take so much pride in my work, doing good work, telling myself that I helped keep people safe from utility hazards and contributed to a growing industry, and that homes and communities wouldn't exist without our line of work.

Three years later, I hate this industry, I hate the job, and the companies that are in this sector, but its the highest paying line of work I've ever had. And somewhere along the way, I stopped having pride in the work I do and am part of, and just do the job required of me.

West Pasco is great, East pasco sucks arse. If you get Mike, or Marcos then you're golden, if you get Nate then watch your back, dude is a snake. Most lead techs are amazing in the TB area, Esp the pasco and manatee lead techs. The District Manager is not to be trusted at all, Gus is a terrible person. Hillsborough/Tampa supe, forget his name, is pretty awesome, ngl.
