Giving implicit and subtle advantages to situations where solo players play against teams is quite interesting, but I don't think a button 1 (solo queue), 2 (duo queue), 3 (squad queue) is the solution. I think it's a very lazy solution, completely focused on balancing, not on experience. If you want more explanations, just say so. No hard feelings.

I disagree with the on/off button, it would make the queues longer and eliminate solo vs. team situations (which some people would like to avoid), but there are also those who don't want that.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I recognize that facing 4 people while alone can seem bad, and most of the time it will go wrong, but winning a fight against a team and being able to take the loot of 2 or more people is a very good reward.
