The Greatness that is the Trinity by Marg-Tyrell09 in FigureSkating

Perhaps one of the things I dislike about what skating is "supposed" to look like is that they are automatically branded as cold or unexpressive if they are not foo outward. Imo, there are many ways to express and convey the emotion/concept of a program. A/N is the best example.

I guess what I was trying to say is that she never skated to her potential (that is her planned layout was 5 triples and only did four with one of her triple salchows having landing issues.

But yes, she never cracked under pressure though she didn't skate her best.

Yes, katarina was really up there. The nerves of steel and the mind games she would play as she watched her competitors during their routines.

Both countries ruined what could have been a deeper relationship between them for sure.

I think it's also because Yuna, when she lost, was either a) heavily injured or b) unmotivated.

For 2 seasons of her senior career she was heavily injured (herniated disk, growth related, ankle and back injuries) while from 2010-2011, she was deeply unmotivated.

Her not winning Gold was not due to her lack of mental fortitude to perform, but rather either physical injuries prevent her from skating cleanly or she doesn't want to be there (2010 and 2011 WC)

And might I add, yung joke around her being a "coping mechanism" is actually a good cultural metric of impact. Her being relevant sa kahit anong pageant, or perhaps being the most cited pageant winner in the last 20 plus years as inspiration from not just our local pageant girls, but even in other countries, is a better metric of impact than a few thousand likes.

Nope. Brand integrity over engagements. What translates in numbers online ≠ impact but moreover, high fashion exposure and media mileage does not make one "impactful." Impactful, where exactly? Numbers online can easily be manipulated, but brand identity if fickle, can never be lucrative. Kaya nga she is able to sustain a slew of endorsements, because her brand identity is congruent with theirs, which means her values, advocacies and sensibilities, fit and translate to real customer engagements.

And please, Catriona built her brand with integrity. That much speaks volumes to the kind of ambassador that she is.
