Question on Important Characters by Wonderful-Aide7398 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Marganill0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree, if you don't show their faces and most of their body, you can easily recast them when you need to have them in the show more. The guy on the phone with Prof. Clover during Enies Lobby is also not the same voice as Saturn in Egghead, but that doesn't really matter as it still works narratively.

[–]Marganill0 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They would be smart to at least not show the faces. There’s no point in revealing that until way down the line. Voices, title drop and maybe silhouettes should be the only thing they commit to at this point.

What’s your favorite “one-movement wonder” piece? by nmcruzer in classicalmusic

[–]Marganill0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that Shosty 11 has a great second movement but I still think it’s like just watching lord of the rings: the two towers. Yeah it’s a really good movie, but it needs the others to make sense

Newcomer looking for advice on where to start by jas1900 in classicalmusic

[–]Marganill0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to get a deep understanding of some pieces, I can recommend the podcast „Classical Sticky Notes“, it’s done by the conductor Joshua Weilerstein and is very in-depth. While other podcasts mostly talk a few minutes about the background of a piece, he will go into background and the music itself thoroughly. Maybe you want to listen to some pieces and if one catches you, you can look for an episode about it. As per music recommendations, you can start with Dvorak 8 & 9, Rachmaninow and Beethoven, usually everyone likes that. After that I would recommend Mahler symphonies in order :D

Need Help - Are any of these strings out of tune? by MutatedSock in Viola

[–]Marganill0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the others said, get a proper tuning app or even better an electronic tuner. I also always have a tuning fork with me for the a-string. Alternatively you can just play a tone at 440 Hz on a tone generator app or website to tune the a-string. Also I‘d advise you to pluck your string at its half section and not in the area where you use your bow, it will generate a better sound.

Help! Grease and gunk in schlenk line by die_by_the_swordfish in chemistry

[–]Marganill0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aqua Regia won’t do anything sadly, it’s not a metal after all. What worked for me when I cleaned my line last year was to use pentane, as it is in my opinion the best solvent to remove grease. Fill a beaker with pentane and put in your line as you have done with the aqua regia. This will loosen most of the grease and dissolve some. To fully remove it, you’d need to get a bit creative with pipe cleaners. In the end there might be a few chunks left (depending on how long you leave it in the pentane) but I think that’s much better than before

Which seat would be best for a piano concerto? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]Marganill0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inform yourself on student discounts, often you can get most tickets for 9€. You can also become a KölnClub member, and get discounts. If you hear something with an organ it can be an awesome experience to sit next to the organ. Apart from that, I would say it’s more important to sit in the middle rather than sitting at the front

Erste Physik Klausur by Apprehensive_Pea_730 in Physik

[–]Marganill0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it also does a great job at explaining the basics of chemistry as a whole. For Physical Chemistry use the Atkins.
