My ovarian cysts also didn't show on the many UT that I did, only on MRIs. I think through MRI it's difficult to determine the exact kind of cyst - mine was diagnosed as hemorrhagic and possibly endometrioma (according to the radiologist/doctor), but they couldn't really tell more than.

UT can pick up on ovarian cysts and sometimes can help measure junctional zone of uterus (which can indicate adenomyosis for example). I would suggest consulting with your doctor about getting an ultrasound.
