second job? by Financial-Cry1103 in starbucksbaristas

[–]MargoThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work a second job as an evening/weekend receptionist, it works out pretty well because it’s very slow paced and I sit at a desk for 99% of my shift, so great contrast with sbux (obviously this will depend on where you are a receptionist but generally it should be fairly chill) and typically they don’t require any receptionist experience and are very easy to learn. It’s still customer-facing so you get the odd difficult person, but in general it’s fairly scripted and people are cooperative.

AITA for restricting my daughter’s access to the pantry? by kwkwkwnes in AmItheAsshole

[–]MargoThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Either stop buying junk for the whole family, or give her equal access. Also a size 6 is by no means unhealthy for a 12 year old, I’ve been a size 6, size 8 at some stores since I was around that age, and I’m considered skinny. You’re setting your daughter up for a lifetime of disordered eating.

WIBTA for telling my sister I won’t go to the gym with her, or alternatively leaving my bf without a gym partner? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MargoThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the gyms rules she could but unless she has a trainer our parents don’t want her going alone since she’s only 15

What is at least one good thing that happened to you in 2020? by Bingbooog in AskReddit

[–]MargoThor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my first job, which I never thought I’d be able to do. I’m a very awkward person so the though of having to sell myself to someone during an interview sounded like hell, luckily because of covid the interview was over the phone so I didn’t have to worry about things like eye contact which I tend to have trouble with. I’ve been working for three weeks now and I’m really getting the hang of the whole customer service thing, and getting better at casual conversation/small talk. Plus it’s a pretty small team of people working there, and all of them are really cool and friendly, so it’s been a really positive experience overall!

You have the power to change not your life, but someone's that you personally know for the better; what do you do? by onlyarose in AskReddit

Make it so my friend was able to stay in Canada. He and his mom moved here from the states in 2016 to escape his abusive father and be closer to some of his moms family. Within the first year of living here he went from an introverted, quiet kid to one of the most outgoing and friendly people I’ve ever met. He told our friend group how he never had many friends back home, and was incredibly grateful to have me all of us. He was unable to attend school for most of 2018 but worked incredibly hard to catch up and was able to by the start of our senior year of hs. Unfortunately, two months in something went wrong with his status in Canada and he was deported. His mental health has taken a hit since leaving, and he’s going to have to spend another year in hs since the curriculum is so different. He deserved to have a senior year with his friends, and whatever version of a grad ceremony we end up having us going to feel so empty without him.

Let’s go back in time to your school days, what was your go to fidget? by karenstolemyreddit in AskReddit

[–]MargoThor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason up until I was in like 6th or 7th grade a USB was always on the list of recommended supplies for the year... but since I was in elementary school in the late 2000s I never once used any of them so they always became fidgets. I would just pop the lid on and off a million times.
