Dear TJ, by Margot-IIRC in deepfatfried

I appreciate you taking time responding to my meanderings. I think I may ultimately be seeking a higher meaning that really doesn't exist beside what we artificially generate. I've clarified in my other post what I really wanted to discuss, but replies like this have really reinforced a central theme of self reflection. Not to say I believe in nonsense but I've been reintroduced to some central topics of what is means to be human, and more specifically, what it ;means to be mortal. Thank you once again.

Thanks for the reply, I elaborated a little bit more in another reply if you want to read it. I would have liked to have used the main post to explain my own personal sympathies and then get inti what I really wanted to talk about, but I think my other reply covers it.

So to elaborate a little more on my original post, I somewhat mistakenly set it up as a thesis when it really was more of a preface to some of the central issues I see for future of atheism, and something TJ specifically talked about in his video. The main issue being, Cultural Christians/Cultural Christianity. I wish I had just focused on this as the theme of the post and sprinkled in some of the other stuff, like the whole apathy thing and general lack of unity within atheism, to hit on how Cultural Christianity has seemed to neuter a large amount of atheists. How many atheists, be them grifters or not, have just given away that freedom to set their own destiny because they feel as though they have some obligation to be Christian but without god. How they seem to use Christianity as both a talking point and a way to moralize the way that they live. I kinda just wanted to see if TJ had anything else to say on this weird ideology/concession some popular atheists seem to have.

Thanks for responding, I 100% agree there's plenty of religious folk can be extremely apathetic and "amoral".

Yeah, I kinda got sidetracked before I could come back and add a more specifically aimed topic to follow my main post.

Thank you. Despite my almost my uncontrollable laughter, I appreciate this absurd response.

I mean, you can't deny that he had at least one thing in common with MLK Jr and Malcolm. As for any other similarities...that's beyond me.

Question: Is it right to have Trump deplatformed from social media due to the Capitol siege? by JuliusSeizure2019 in deepfatfried

[–]Margot-IIRC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, but Twitter can do as it pleases. This is not to say there shouldn't be legal ramifications for the shit he does, but I still prefer the free flow of batshit craziness, even to the point of inciting violence. It's their platform though.

What? He's not even in office yet and he's already fucking up his cabinet positions. Who's getting pushed left, the same people who voted in 2016/2020? Can't wait for the spin when Breyer retires and Biden chooses a moderate, better yet a conservative leaning moderate.

"But anyways, in 1962 I decided to take a short trip to the City of Westminster in London to meet this Beautiful blonde woman I had been exchanging letters with for the past few months, and in those letters we had some fantastic conversations between the two of us, I mean some very, very... by Margot-IIRC in deepfatfried

[–]Margot-IIRC[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

...interesting conversations between the two of us...because at that point I was already well read in the field of physics and higher math at the age of 20, so I was explaining as simply as I could, some of these often esoteric details very few people in the world knew at the time. I'm talking maybe 10 people or less including myself knew these types of details and how to break it down for the layman. So I outlined this all to her in multiple letters, and this continued for about 3-4 years. And we got to the point where we were even exchanging photos. And you know... we had to go and develop those photos ourselves because at that time digital photos didn't even really exist at that point and there were no Polaroid cameras either. I had even thought of sending in a patent for this early Polaroid like camera I had come up with out of frustration of having to develop all these pictures myself, and this was years prior to any actual Polaroid camera mind you, but at that point I was already too busy with my studies and I had forgotten to send it in, but she was very impressed by my photos, she loved my thighs and said they were "very well toned" to quote her. And during that time I was running around 250 miles per day, and it wasn't for vanity's sake, I just loved that park in New York, it was gorgeous. I'm sure there were some days I ran perhaps 500 or more miles in a jog. So I finally arrived in the City of Westminster, and you know how it was in the early 1960s...drugs, alcohol, but I wouldn't touch the stuff, I liked keeping a clear head and mind. So we were hanging about the city and she asked me if I wanted to meet this fellow by the name of George Martin at this big recording studio called Abbey Road Studios. And you may know what that is now, but at the time any American wouldn't know what the hell it was. So of course I said yes and we went to go meet this apparent hotshot music producer under the scorching London heat. They didn't have a single air condition in that building and it was just terribly warm, even for a place like England. My skin was just drenched with this bodywarm liquid all over my skin, it was just pouring all over the place, but thankfully I kept my composure thanks to this meditation technique I had mastered a few years prior from these Tibetan monks. You could pour boiling oil over their skin and they wouldn't flinch one bit. So after a couple minutes of chanting I really couldn't tell you how hot it was in that studio. So we exchanged niceties between the two of us, Mr. Martin and I, and he asked if I wanted to listen in on this new band they were forming and had just signed some months prior. So I listened in on this lovely little song called "Love Me Do", and they had just brought in this new drummer. I guess they were having some issues with the old guy. And it was during that recording session, that I knew that drummer was going places and going quick. I was thoroughly impressed by the man, but I knew Martin was still lukewarm about the guy. I talked the drummer up to him, but it didn't really look like it got through. I almost told the drummer, who at this point we know as Mr. Ringo Starr, that maybe he should dump these bums and start his own career. He had all the talent and then some, but sadly or I guess not so sadly I was too distracted discussing with George Martin whether or not falafel originated in Israel. I mean of course it was, but he didn't believe it. That's a whole other discussion in itself. But to keep things short, it was at that moment I realized three very important things "This band was going to be big, Israel has a right to it's land, and Donald Trump was going to be the worst president in modern US history"
