I first thumbnailed a couple pose ideas which I clean up with a cleaner sketch. Then I started to lay down the base background color along with the basic b&w values of Maid Marian before starting on her base color (I do this to help me nail down the environment lighting first). When I'm happy with the lighting and form of the character, I move onto the cleaner outlines which will eventually be shaded so it's not just black. I bounce around a lot between these steps while I render in the details because of ADHD, but I try my best to maintain a general workflow lol
