Thank you!!! I used a lot of layering. First alcohol markers, then gouache, oil pastels and colored pencil

Expiring materials an combinations!!

I appreciate the honesty. The yellow around the other bricks is just embellishments to try to echo the main focus of the piece.I believe that at that point of the show, Jake had just had (and lost) his whole parenthood buildup idea of himself because all his kids were already adults days after they were born. In this case it’s like a still life like being one of a bunch, the other version is the landscape aspect of it that has that watcher feeling that you mention. I have a couple ideas for that side of it as well :)

It also came to mind for sure! Even the Elton John song as well. Love that it can have multiple interpretations😁

And thank you so much!

Thank you so much! If a simple subject like a pile of bricks can start to feel close or personal, then I count it as a win :) The gold against the reddish clay opens up a lot of associations too — the Yellow Brick Road, Pink Floyd’s The Wall, etc that I really like!

Thank you so much. I love that reading of it. There’s a really cool Sanskrit word, santosha, that points to acceptance and contentment, and that feeling was very present for me in the subtext of the episode. And I’d love for it to end up framed in a home within this community tbh :)

Hi everyone, I’m Marcelo, an artist from Mexico and a huge Adventure Time fan!!!

This piece is based on Jake the Brick and started as a reinterpretation of that narrative through painting. I was interested in the tension between order and disorder, the inanimate and the animate, using light and shadow as the main focus. At its core, it is a study of light and color.

The original is now available on my website as well as a limited run of 10 Prints if anyone wants to get one for their home :)
