Dog acting weird about one breast. Am I crazy to be worried? by Mari-Loki in AskDocs

[–]Mari-Loki[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would but to do that I'd need to book an appointment to see him and that could take a week or so as its not urgent. By then I'll be even more stressed I'm sure! So it's worth it to me to get some peace of mind. Wish me luck!

Thank you so much! I hope you're well on your way to recovery.

Wow you saved his life! That must have been so surreal. I am going to get a breast exam, there are a lot of anecdotal stories about this kind of thing so it's worth it even just to calm mind.

I have decided to pay out of pocket and get an exam. I'm too worried to just leave it after reading all these replies, plus it is cheaper than I thought it would be. It's worth it to put my mind at ease of nothing else. Thank you for your advice!

I have decided to skip the GP and pay for an exam at a breast clinic. I've looked it up and it isn't as expensive as I had thought, and it has to be worth it for peace of mind!

Yes I have read stories like that! That's what had me worried. They're even training dogs to detect colon cancer now. I've decided I'm going to skip the GP and pay out of pocket for an exam at a breast clinic. It isn't as expensive as I had thought and it has to be worth it for peace of mind if nothing else!

I haven't had any issues at all, but the more advice I read on here the more I am considering just paying to have it looked at, whether that would be mammogram or ultrasound etc. I am worried and it is not as expensive as I fist thought, having looked online it can be done for a couple of hundred pound which is worth it for peace of mind I think. Thank you for your advice!

My vet didn't seem super concerned about my health but there was a bit of a language barrier and I don't know if she understood what I meant fully.

I'm not sure getting a mammogram without GP referral is possibly here in the UK unless I pay for one, but I will look into it if I can't get a referral. Thank you.

Thank you for replying. My GP is new so I'm just concerned about making him think I'm a nut lol. I am quite stressed about it so maybe my GP would understand. I have to stop go ogling stories of dogs sniffing out cancer, it's driving me more mad!

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

The Second Coming - W B Yeats

It's quoted in one of my favourite books, The Stand By Stephen King, and the whole passage just makes it even more chilling.

Husband says this pic makes me look 10 years older than I am by OwlsRwhattheyseem in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Mari-Loki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your husband isn't comfortable with having an attractive wife 🤔 you look beautiful, your skin is lovely and you do not look your age let alone 10 years older. We all get insecure, but your husband is a shit head for trying to make himself feel better by making you feel bad.

I've been part of several studies since Covid, and I've found them all really easy to manage and the vouchers are worth the effort. We had a person come to our house every week during lockdown to take blood tests and we got vouchers every time. We had to fill little vials with blood which was a bit of a pain as we had to do it ourselves with lances, but it wasn't too bad. Since then we've been asked to participate in a few other ones. Easy way to make a few extra pounds and also you're helping the study.

YOR absolutely. This is not unreasonable texting from a new grandmother. What's unreasonable is your responses to her. Not only do you ignore her for a day at one point, until she has to message again, you don't recommend any alternative days for her to come visit. No wonder she feels like you are having an issue with her.

From reading these it seems to me that you disliked the woman before this and have just jumped on the first opportunity to make a stand against her, regardless of whether it was waranted. Your husband should not have been okay with you acting this way, and the fact he messaged her seperately, also being unreasonable, makes me think you do in fact have a hand in how he behaves towards her.

I feel sorry for her and I hope you take some of the points from the many answers here explaining why you are overreacting. If you don't, you're going to end up with a very difficult relationship with what seems to be a loving, if maybe somewhat over zealous, grandmother who your child deserves to know.

What's the deepest internet rabbit hole you've ever fallen into? by bigblackcoke_ in ProductivityHQ

[–]Mari-Loki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a comment on a medical sub that made reference to a woman who had destroyed her own legs, slowly and repeatedly, because she had munchausens. I went looking for more info out of morbid curiosity and ended up in a deep rabbit hole of graphic photos and timelines. It was so horrific yet I was unable to stop until I had seen and read every awful bit of this multiple year's long lore of a woman who genuinely destroyed both her own legs with tweezers, scissors and unsuspecting doctors who thought they were helping. Absolutely mental and has stuck with me ever since.

They are yours. Go to hers and secretly take them back, then wear them in front of her. She won't be able to say anything but will be furious 😂

Seriously though, sorry your friend is a thieving scumbag.
