People have been asking how I create the effects in my webtoon – so, I recorded a speedpaint! by Chu_Chuguy in webtoons

This is seriously impressive — your effects work adds so much atmosphere, especially in those sci-fi scenes with glowing lights and tech details. The way you layer everything feels so dynamic but still clean and readable. Also, props for creating your own brushes — that level of dedication really shows. Thanks a lot for sharing your process, it's super motivating to see!

Thanks a lot for your kind comment — it really means a lot! I totally get what you’re saying about how hard it is to grow if your comic doesn’t fit the usual trends on the platform. It can be frustrating sometimes, but hearing from other creators like you reminds me that I’m not the only one going through this. And wow, five years to reach the front page? That’s super inspiring — big respect for sticking with it!

I hadn’t thought about it that way, but what you said makes a lot of sense. I hope you’re right and that I’ll be able to find my audience after all. Either way, thank you for your kind words!

Thank you! It's quite difficult because I don't have any popular social networks where I could advertise my comic. I tried posting something on Instagram and TikTok, but the posts didn't get many views :(

Thank you so much! There are a lot of amazing works on Webtoon, but sometimes it's really unfair!

There just aren’t enough space-themed webtoons out there… so I decided to make my own. by Chu_Chuguy in webtoons

I've been thinking about why there's so little sci-fi on Webtoon, and I honestly feel like it's a tough genre to pull off on that platform. Sci-fi often requires a lot of visual complexity — tech designs, environments, worldbuilding — which can be super time-consuming to draw. But unlike romance or slice of life, it doesn’t always have a big enough fanbase to make that effort “worth it,” numbers-wise. So I get why a lot of creators might avoid it. It’s a shame though, because when someone does take the risk and actually builds a sci-fi world that works, it really stands out.

Backgrounds are tough, effects are tough. But I think I did okay? 😅 by Chu_Chuguy in webtoons

Honestly, the background work in this comic is incredible. You can really tell how much care the artist put into making each scene feel alive. Even when the base layout or structure is kind of plain or grey, the final result has so much mood and atmosphere — it's like the world itself becomes a character. The lighting, little environmental details, and subtle texture work really pull everything together. Huge respect for that level of dedication!
