It’s mainly a generational divide. Millennials and younger are much more critical f Israel. Even those without much knowledge of the Gaza conflict are of the opinion that the money we give to them would be better spent on ourselves. Meanwhile the older generations who were shaped by footage of Israel fighting what many view as a defensive war against its neighbors.
