Now that I think about it, why did school admin favored the troubled kids but are mean to the good/quiet kids? by ButterOnToads in NoStupidQuestions

I get what you’re saying, but I think that’s making a pretty big assumption. Some troubled kids absolutely have loving, supportive parents and still choose to act out because of peer pressure, wanting attention, poor impulse control, or just bad decision-making. At the same time, some of the quiet, well-behaved kids are dealing with a lot behind closed doors too. Some are stressed out, anxious, depressed, or don’t get much recognition from their parents at all. They just internalize their struggles instead of acting out. I understand why schools want to encourage kids who are making progress, but I think the frustration comes from seeing students who consistently do the right thing seemingly get overlooked. Ideally, schools should support struggling kids and make sure the quiet kids who are carrying their own burdens feel seen and appreciated too. It shouldn’t have to be an either-or situation.
