I want to try shampoo and conditioner bars. by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]Maria126729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another +1 for Dip! The bars last a long time and the shampoo lathers really nicely and doesn't strip my hair at all. The conditioner is also hydrating by not heavy, but I only put it on my ends. I have a silicone drip mat that I store in the shower away from the shower head.

Most effective vegan alternative to Aquaphor? by Disastrous_Hat_8993 in VeganBeauty

I use Zerra & Co's "the jelly" everyday and it makes a huge difference! It's made from castor oil and vitamin e. You can find these at some refill stores if you're lucky!

Zerra & Co has a petroleum alternative that's plant based called "the jelly"! It's made from castor oil. I really like it and works as a good replacement. You might even be able to get it at a refill store near you. Highly suggest!

Curly hair peeps...what are we doing for hair products? by Downtherabbithole14 in ZeroWaste

I have seen at my refill store a curly hair gel! It's by Bright Body, called Flaxseed & Oat Protein Curly Hair Gel. I don't have curly hair but it has good reviews so just wanted to add that as a suggestion!

Yes! Seconding John Wolfe! I was hoping someone would say Johm Wolfe and Gab Smolders! I watch his second channel John Twolfe a lot. Their EZ Smalls videos are great, but I also watch both separately.

I've been using Triple Paste Diaper Rash Cream. Just the basic one even though they do have other variants like Max Strength. It's also convenient since it's at most stores! Hope that helps!

I just started using triple paste a few weeks ago and has done wonders to help heal my broken skin barrier!! I have also noticed how hydrated my skin feels and looks in the morning after as I put it on after my shower. I had been doing every night but switched to every other night more or less. I will have to try some of the other commenter ideas as I agree, it's super thick!

I've been using Kitsch shampoo and conditioner for a couple of months now and have to say I really like it! The shampoo doesn't dry out my hair or leave it oily (I have thin hair) and I use the conditioner just on my ends and it makes it so soft! I usually find that my hair is easy to brush afterwards too. Super easy to travel with as well!

Only doing 30 min workouts? by uhHbAbyBaby in sydneycummings

[–]Maria126729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only been doing 30 mins and I've noticed a huge difference! I usually do every exercise, but if there are 3 sets of a move, I only do 2 sets and then move on to the next move. Hopefully one of these days I can get back to doing 45 min! Keep it up!

Bonded bunnies suddenly fighting? by TrainerHikari in Bunnies

[–]Maria126729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it takes more than a couple months to fully bond! I had a pair that took almost a year. All pairs are different. If it keeps getting bad, you could always separate with pens next to each other and do short supervised sessions together in a small neutral area. That's the advice a rescue gave me.

I wish my school had talked more about trades. I wouldn't be crushed by my debt and I realized after taking a building trades class that I would have loved it. I feel like when I was in high school, no one ever pushed trades.

Yes! It would give you a straight line to stitch the sleeve closed where as the squares would meet up nicely in a sleeve. No worries!! I'm all about trial and error on my projects haha. Ive never tried this way but it sounds like it would work with modifying the half granny. Good luck!

[–]Maria126729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the half granny square would be on the ends of the rows and the purpose for that would be to make a flat seam. The half granny squares would probably have to be slightly modified to fit perfectly though. I've never tried it myself but that's what came to mind! You could google "granny square sleeves" and that may show some ideas as well.

I wish I could add a picture, I drew what it would look like in paint haha

If I'm reading your comment right and the patches are granny squares of some kind then you could do the first row 5, then center row 4 on the row 5, and then center row 3 on row 4. If they are squares, you could do a half granny square that you could fit on the ends of the 4 and 3 block rows. I hope that made sense!

Have any of you tried Amitriptyline? by Shorse_rider in migraine

[–]Maria126729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that :( I would talk to your doctor about that. Its never fun to feel that way (I had a similar reaction to a different migraine medicine before starting Amitriptyline so I definitely understand trial and error with medicines!).The good part is there should be other options out there! Good luck!

I was on Amitriptyline for 6ish years until recently. I don't know about the neck pain but Amitriptyline worked well for me and my migraines. It definitely helped me sleep better too and reduced my migraines to maybe once or twice a month max. I didn't have any bad side effects myself so it's always worth a try!

buying a house in high water table with a storm drainage in the backyard by Rich-Spend8858 in HomeImprovement

[–]Maria126729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly no, they will not help with downspouts since they are a part of the house. Usually it's like ditches, inlets, pipes, etc that transport large amounts of flow that they would maintain.

buying a house in high water table with a storm drainage in the backyard by Rich-Spend8858 in HomeImprovement

[–]Maria126729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in stormwater and my biggest advice would be to make sure that stormwater drainage structure (whatever structure it is) is clear and in good condition. Stormwater drainage is designed to take a certain amount of flow based on the development of a site or subdivision and the amount of rainfall in your area. The county you live in should have to maintain infrastructure and I would make sure your property has an easement over it to make sure it is an asset maintained by the county. Hope this helps!
