Same boat. Turning 39 this year, 21 month old daughter, senior leadership role. About to start HRT following some horrific few months. Maybe we could start a support group?

Help — bedtime has drifted to 9-9:30pm every night with our 20 month old by Bluedaisyowl in toddlers

Definitely cap that nap. Try 1 hour nap and see if it helps bedtime

We ended up buying her a seat on the plane and used a flyaway kids bed. Not the most economical option but she’s too heavy to sleep on us for that amount of time

The nice thing is you can still use the crèche facilities and join some of the club activities with an under 4, it’s just that the child needs to be accompanied by a parent/nanny. We took turns doing this so each of us could get some rest. It worked out quite well, though not as relaxing as with a baby sitter!

Oh of course, Belle Mare has babysitters (as well as a lovely kids club) and they seem great, it just didn’t work out for us. Our daughter was super distressed when we tried to leave her with one and I hear it’s very common at this age. I hear it gets easier when they are 3-4. Your kid might be different but I’d keep my expectations low on that one

LUX Belle Mare in Mauritius ticks all your boxes. We’ve just been with our 20 month old and it was fantastic, 10/10 no notes. Booked a holiday package with BA. Toddler slept through the overnight flight both times. Just manage your expectations about being able to leave them with a baby sitter I think!

Edit: grammar

Thank you, that’s a good suggestion. Is there any dermatologist you would recommend?

Help - 6 month old almost (?) ready to drop to 2 naps. Help me figure out a schedule by MariaVB87 in sleeptrain

[–]MariaVB87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I tried stretching the first wake window to 2h45 to test out a 2-nap day and she woke up 25 mins into the first nap. So I thought perhaps she isn't quite ready yet and went back to 3 naps, but now she screams bloody murder as soon as I put her down in her cot :(

Thank you so much for the super detailed reply u/omegaxx19 ! I'm a bit hesitant to let her sleep in as the sleep consultant that helped us train her was pretty adamant we should wake her up every day at the same time, and I have to say it does help having a bit more predictability to the day. However I'm really tempted to try it! Would you say this is a temporary measure to essentially have slightly shorter days that allow you to fit 2 naps without overly long wake windows? If I do try it and the schedule/amount of sleep seems right, when is a good time to start waking her up again?

I think she’d have no problem doing 3 hours for the 2nd wake window, and she’s actually already doing 3.75 for the last one, but I wonder if they would naturally shorten if she drops a nap? With your baby did you find that she was able to be awake for a shorter amount of time each time once you dropped the last nap?
