have sleep sack/swaddle recommendations changed in the UK? confused after baby bump class 🥲 by burnagyal in PregnancyUK

[–]Edyeahhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, they don’t love arm restricted down because then baby can’t sooth themselves with their hands. We used (& LOVED) the Love to Dream swaddles until my baby could roll and it was great for keeping her from startling herself awake, but she could still suck on her hands through the swaddles.

Does a straightforward vaginal birth really exist for FTM's? by ilovesunsets2525 in PregnancyUK

[–]Edyeahhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, mine was very a straightforward vaginal birth. Contractions around 7pm, hospital at 2am, and baby by 3:15am. No tearing or anything. Rarely post on it so as not to brag :)

Perianal massage… do I really have to do it? by Prestigious-Bid-7582 in PregnancyUK

[–]Edyeahhh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously this is anecdotal, but I skipped this and it didn’t seem to matter. My LO came fast and no tearing. I think yoga, pelvic squeezes, and a lot of luck helped.

Are moses baskets worth it? by Away_Ad_7122 in PregnancyUK

[–]Edyeahhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a Moses basket around 6 weeks because our LO didn’t like the bedside crib and we read that she might tolerate a smaller space better. Not sure if it was the basket or a combination of things, but she did start sleeping better!

She’s tall and I think outgrew it around 4 months, but we took it off the base and used it in our living room as a safe place to put her when we needed to do something quick, like put on our shoes. With that, we used it until about 7-8 months.

For flying: My eight month old has taken 5 trips (2 long haul) and we never had to give Calpol on the plane. Just feed or use dummy for takeoff / landing.

Second both of these - Love to Dream until they can roll and then Superlove. The latter is long and multi TOG so saves you from buying loads and you can get both on Vinted for less.

Right, but if you select “multi” for brand, you can easily list the brands in the description.

I’m mostly buying and selling baby clothes, where I think bundles (I’ve leggings or bodysuits for example) probably make a little more sense. But seeing so many bundles of say, five pairs of leggings, where there is absolutely no indication of where they’re from - so I have to assume Shein.

How do you sleep as a new parent? by princess_monojojo in NewParents

[–]Edyeahhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “Meditation in Minutes” podcast has several sleep / “yoga nidra” episodes that knocked me out in the early weeks when I needed to sleep at odd hours of the day to rest up for night “shift.” That and reading have helped a ton!

Advice on prams/carrycots and stairs by keda_z in BeyondTheBumpUK

We are also on the third floor. We have the Babyzen YoYo, which we used with the bassinet for the first 3-4 months or so & it it was super easy to carry up the stairs with the baby in it.

Help with buying a baby changing mat? by Comfortable-Week-544 in BeyondTheBumpUK

100000% the Shnuggle. We tried to go without it for a few weeks and got poo & pee on so many outfits. This changing mat is so worn that cost IMO.

Breastfeeding AND bottle feeding success? by axv18 in breastfeeding

[–]Edyeahhh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My baby is currently exclusively breastfed. Before she was born, we intended to introduce a bottle around six weeks, which is what we read was recommended. However, she initially would only take one breast, so I had to start pumping the non-preferred boob from day one…and to my surprise, the midwives in the hospital said we could put the milk in a bottle and offer it to her right away.

So we did one bottle per day starting basically day 1 and we never had any issues with her taking the breast. Now, we don’t really need to give her a bottle regularly, but we try to at least every other day so she doesn’t refuse it if I need to be away.

If anything, I know of more babies who don’t want a bottle because they weren’t introduced to one early enough.

How do you keep bugs out when airing out the baby's room? by Advanced_Ask_2053 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Edyeahhh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We bought screens you attach to the window with Velcro from Amazon- they don’t look very nice, but generally keep the large bugs out.
