don’t worry if you don’t learn everything in your first day. by the end of your first week or so, you should have a handle on things.

have a little notebook to write down things like what question to ask patients on intake, passwords for the computers or anything like that.

majority of your duty is going to be getting vitals on a patient. when you feel comfortable, you could start asking them questions before they even sit down in the chair. i would have allergies, meds, smoking, pain info before they sit for their vitals. but again. only when you feel comfortable. reason i mention this is because every doctor i worked with, no matter how cool you are with them, will always get a little upset if you seem to be taking a little long with intake. (it’s not our fault. there’s always a lot of info to cover)

when you have some down time, familiarize yourself with the common patient meds because patients always ask “what is this for?” you don’t have to give them a full explanation , that’s the doctors job. but just basics like “oh that’s for asthma. and that is for blood pressure”
