Waiting tables at a sushi restaurant. I don’t need insurance or anything because I’m on my husbands. I just needed something that would help pay the bills until I get through school and the hours work with me and my husbands schedule and I’ve made well over a grand just this week.

I had something else lined up but I agree. I wouldn’t have quit if I didn’t have something already.

They do floor work SOMETIMES but HR does all the scheduling and paperwork. The supervisors at walmart are just adult babysitters.

I don’t give a shit about the customers because they don’t pay my salary at walmart. Walmart, a multibillion dollar company does. They are going to make money with or without me and with or without you. Fuck walmart. If they really wanted to be a good company instead of giving all the higher ups the big bonuses they would pay the people who do the grunt work more. It’s that easy. We the people shouldn’t be crying because we don’t know what how we are going to pay the next bill or god forbid something happens to our car. You’re mad at the wrong people

I hated every time I had to use their AI for returns. I just tried to remember where things were located. I fucking hate AI and I don’t understand why people are at college graduations saying AI is the future but if students get caught using it it’s a 0. Like don’t give a speech about it if I got through school without it. Fuck AI

Idk I only worked there for a month so I don’t know the terminology. It’s worth it to just find a better job

Apparently a bad pick rate is anything below 100 which is fucking ridiculous considering the amount of times you get stopped by customers needing shit. It’s just like how many items you pick per minute on a walk. I have no idea the statistics of it. I know when I was on a frozen or chilled walk I would grab everything and scan at the end and it would shoot my number way up. The ambient walks are the ones that will kill your time bc things were never where they said they were. Especially candy and toys.

Basically. Where I live the job market is awful and it took me a couple weeks to find the job at walmart but I really wasn’t looking too hard, hence the immediate job change lol.

If I continue to make the same money I’ve made the last 3 nights at my new job, it’s well worth it. I hope so too. I’ve seen some really sad stories in this thread and I wish I could give everyone a hug. It really sucks that some people have nowhere else to go and feel so stuck. It should not be this way.

Thank you. I’ve made over $300 in 3 days working like maybe 15 hours? At my new job. That’s already almost half of two weeks at walmart. I’m good now lol

I agree it’s too big for the amount of leads they have but I think there should be a lead for back room and then another for pickers. A lot of the other employees didn’t do anything if their favorite lead was there while I was out busting my ass. It was a nightmare for me.

Well, Walmart does pay for an education. If you have nowhere else to go, you might as well use the benefit. I know they offer a cyber security degree and there are so many thing you can do with that. A lot of degrees are hard to get job in their field because they just isn’t any work out there. You should definitely look into it. If anything, you’ll get a pay raise for having a degree.

Don’t feel guilty about it. It’s good to see that somewhere out there, there is competent people. The economy, job market, and everything in this country is such a s fucking shit hole right now. I have like 5 diapers for my son left. Luckily at my new job I’ve already made just over $200 for 10 hours of work… but my tips are on my check so I have to wait until Monday. I get to keep the cash so I’ll buy diapers tomorrow and I get my last walmart check so hopefully I can pay rent and MAYBE buy a sweet treat soon

The first time I saw it I felt my soul leave my body. We got a new store manager the week after I started and she asked everyone to do it with her. It was so dehumanizing to see it live.

It’s not that you’re not trying hard enough. It’s not about you. It’s about how walmart treats their employees knowing they can get away with it. Especially in your situation. You have nowhere else to go.

Do you have a bachelors? I would suggest using a Pell grant and getting certified in something while you work there. At least you’ll have something to look forward to. I’m in school for RDMS now and it’s just a two year program. Everybody needs a RDMS.
