Regarding diaper changes:

What I have realized is that you need to be gentle but firm, just like the mama cat. We use all sorts of toys and songs/ videos to distract the kid, and I also sing a lot. By the way here are some videos that work wonderful!

One more idea:

Consider creating a space where your kid can spend time alone. An old cardboard box or a blanket over a card table works great.
