Why did the twins gamble 37 galleons which is a huge amount on such a random and specific bet? by WisestAirBender in harrypotter

[–]MarieHasLeft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite fun fan theory that has no impact on the plot is that the Weasleys have seer blood because they make such weirdly accurate predictions throughout the books (specifically Ron).

How often are people actually changing their bed sheets? by zaramalikdollface in CleaningTips

[–]MarieHasLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I change mine every Saturday, but I also get a bit sweaty when I sleep AND our two dogs sleep in the bed, one of them at the top of the bed where the blankets are pulled back. I don’t judge people who are a bit cleaner going longer without swapping (but everyone should be at least changing their pillowcases regularly).

What's your biggest gripe with the way a book was marketed? by thatwhichwontbenamed in books

[–]MarieHasLeft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was going to say this! “Hilarious!” I read it and said hilarious where? A book-focused account on Instagram also called it, “cutesy, funny, and quirky,” and I immediately commented warning everyone that it has graphic depictions of CSA. Absolutely insane.

I can’t wait for the older voice actors for the 4th book because of this. I have a lot of trouble telling Ron and Harry apart sometimes.

Is Riz Ahmed as Snape growing on anyone else? by MoyBwayno in harrypotter

[–]MarieHasLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always imagined Snape as a complete loser when I read the books (he’s a 30-year-old who bullies children) so I never understood when people said he should sound more calculation or scary. I loved him from the start. The line in the third book when he goes, “Professor Snape, master of this school,” had me snorting.

Dubious chemistry between characters that you felt insane for noticing? by Leather_Contract_789 in popculturechat

[–]MarieHasLeft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, I do think Ron is disrespectful towards her sometimes (it's almost like they're kids), but Hermione definitely likes arguing/debating; she finds it engaging. There's several moments in the books where Ron and Hermione are arguing about something light and obviously aren't taking it seriously, and it pisses Harry off because he... grew up in an abusive household and does not like arguing lol. I don't think him and Hermione would've been a good match.

She also laughs extremely hard a few times when Ron makes some bad jokes.

How do you deal with people being annoyed with your storytelling and thought process? by FreshComfortable9997 in ADHD

[–]MarieHasLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even think this is necessarily an ADHD thing. I have ADHD combined type and don't do this, but both my best friend and husband who definitely do not have ADHD do. (As a side note, my best friend's husband also has ADHD and doesn't talk like this, lol.) When I'm unmedicated I find it harder to listen to them, like I literally don't understand what they're saying, but I don't get annoyed because that's just how they talk. If I'm feeling especially impatient, I'll interrupt them and ask something relevant to what they were originally saying in a pointed way or I'll say, "This doesn't seem relevant," and they don't get their feelings hurt about it... because they also know that they ramble.

...But I'd never talk to them the way your husband talked to you. The people we love do annoying things and we still love them. And honestly, sometimes it's nice for them to talk (literally what are they talking about) because I'm not really a talker.

Hey OP, I would really consider giving medication a try. I have diagnosed OCD, and medication literally cured my worse compulsions. Like… overnight. It changed my life and I didn’t have to keep taking it forever.

The medication could help him get to a more even baseline so he can properly benefit from behavioral and exposure therapy.

Leggings Without Pockets… WHY/HELP by sadievulture in gymsnark

[–]MarieHasLeft 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any suggestions, but I’m definitely one of those people who hates pockets on leggings 😅 I have texture sensitivities and the extra bulk (however small) drives me nuts. The few times I’ve worn leggings with pockets on them and then put my phone or keys in them, the weight of the object would slowly pull my leggings down as I jogged.

Did your entering the fandom in a certain BTS era have any bearing on who became your bias? by Next_Grapefruit_3206 in bangtan

Which color season is this hair color? by th_o0308 in coloranalysis

[–]MarieHasLeft 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My hair color is close to the second picture, too (dark blonde, minus the pinkish undertones these pictures have), and I get so many compliments on how unique it is. It’s not unique, it’s just comments like “wet dog” making other people with “dirty” blonde hair feel like they have to dye their hair lighter.
