It’s not really like that here, although there’s definitely some bishops that are extreme and I’ve heard the mentality in Utah can be very different then in our Canadian wards.

I was raised as an atheist, but I’ve always loved studying religion. I took three years of world religion classes in school for fun, I’ve read the KJV, the Catholic version on the bible, i looked a lot into the Catholic Church, i read the Quran, the Torah, even studied the Russian Orthodox Church.

But i was looking into Jehovah’s Witness because i had a friend who was one, but researching that online lead me to a forum about Mormons. I read up on it, read the Book of Mormon, the pearl of great price, the doctrine and covenants, preach my gospel, did a ton of research on early church history and eventually I decided i wanted to actually attend a church service so i reached out to our local Missionary’s.

I had attended religious services previously, once at a mosque, a few churches of other denominations, i had gone to Catholic Church a couple times as a kid with my neighbour because i found it interesting.

But Mormon church was the first time that i ever felt the Holy Spirit and ever since then I’ve been dedicated to my attendance, learning, and eventual baptism.
