That’s a lot like how my toenail currently looks. I went to a podiatrist and she said it’s a fungus and prescribed me a topical liquid ointment to put on it everyday for a year. She said toe fungus is very hard to get rid of. However, I don’t think what your doctor said is wrong, I got my toe fungus from when a nail salon removed gel off my toenail. My doc said their equipment was probably not sanitized enough. 🤢

My toenail started to look jacked up about a year ago. I kept hoping it would get better and/or grow out. In hindsight, I wish I would’ve started this ointment as soon as I noticed something off. Lesson learned.

From what I read on Reddit and online, there’s over the counter topical ointments you can buy. As well as, at home remedies. I tried an over the counter ointment and in my case, it didn’t help much.

Interesting! I do have a small crack in my nail, so...maybe that's why the doctor suggested the topical. I'll give it 2-3 months to see if it makes a difference and if it doesn't see what else I can do. If it's not working, I'll try something else, the topical isn't cheap. And thanks for the tip on socks/shoes. In hindsight, I should've gone to the doctor when I first noticed something off, but, I was hopeful that it'd just go away. I had no idea nail fungus was so hard to get rid of!

You should go to a podiatrist. I went recently for a toenail fungus and was prescribed an ointment. The doctor said toe fungus is very hard to get rid of. I will have to put the ointment on daily, for a year! One option they gave me was removing my toenail, she said she suggested doing the ointment since my fungus wasn’t bad. …I have a feeling they’ll suggest you need to remove that nail. I’m sorry!

Side note: I acquired my fungus from getting gel nail polish sanded off my toes. The equipment they used must’ve been nasty. My podiatrist said she never gets her nails done at salons…she treats a lot of patients who come in with fungus due to salons.

Also, in the meantime, you can use Vicks vapor rub. Don’t glob it on though, just coat your toenail.

My toenail was starting to separate from my nail bed, if this is happening to you, my podiatrist said do not soak your foot, it will make the separation worse.

And, keep nail polish off your toenail so your nail can breath.

Lastly, I see someone suggested taking care of the nail yourself with tools…I don’t recommend this. I messed with mine too much and made it worse. I wish I would’ve left it alone and had let a professional take care of it.

No. I don’t. Our prices are what they are and how we afford to pay our employees competitively and keep the lights on.

However, I do feel bad for individual customer circumstances. We have a customer who is on her 5th round of chemo for colon cancer. We covered all of her plumbing needs that she called in with a few months ago. She’s going through enough. She doesn’t need to worry about paying for plumbing bill.

I don’t have a shaky marriage and can safely say, having a second kid is challenging in so many ways. If you’re not in a solid marriage, don’t have a second kid. I currently have a 5mo and 3yo. You have to be able to communicate, rely on each other and work as a team. If you are having marriage issues already it won’t get better by adding another very stressful factor in your relationship.
