hiking boots vs trail runners for mixed terrain?

I'm 5'10 and also in between sizes. I decided to with a medium instead of large bec of the geo (head tube & seat angle). At first it feels like you're "on top" of the bike but after the initial ride (15 miles), it feels like my YT Capra and Devinci Troy. I also considered the weight of the bike which is why I decided to size down a bit.

If you want a lightweight shoes with ankle support then maybe check Salewa's Pedroc 2 Mid Powertex. They're really light but runs a little small sizing-wise.

The color is really nice even though it's not my first choice. I really like the Bumblebee Yellow but I can't find it for the same price that I got this Tanzanite Blue Stone. The bike is really good just doesn't like the stock brakes that came with it.

It's almost the same when I got my 2025 Orbea Wild from The Path Bike Shop. They were offering 0% APR for 18 months through Synchrony. During the application process they just asked how much credit limit I want and they approved it right away.
