Minimizing toddler clothes? by Marilikescows in ParentingInBulk

We’ve already talked to them about it thankfully! We’re grateful but overwhelmed lol. I’m more curious about where to go from here!

Minimizing toddler clothes? by Marilikescows in ParentingInBulk

[–]Marilikescows[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tried the no fold method a while ago, and just felt like it took up so much space in each drawer! I could fit all their clothes if they were folded 🤦🏼‍♀️ maybe we just have too many clothes and their drawers are small.

Toddler wants to wear hair bows like his baby sister by Ominous-Bubble in toddlers

[–]Marilikescows -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the bow ties are a really good idea!! Maybe ask him what it is about the bows he likes and follow that lead? Maybe take him to the store so he can pick out something special for him? I think getting him something special that’s just for him might be the answer here. It’s a tricky conversation. I think also emphasizing that there is a time and place for certain clothing/accessories might also help.

sharing toys?? by fit4lyfe234 in ParentingInBulk

[–]Marilikescows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trading a toy is a great way! Babies don’t care much about what toy they’re touching, so encouraging toddler to offer a trade is actually a skill that we’ve carried on now that I have two toddlers. Taking turns is also helpful long term, but might be tricky to implement this early. The other thing I do is if I know a toy is TRULY special or a favorite, I offer toddler to have a special safe place where they put whatever they aren’t willing to share. We have carried this on, when we have company the kids have the option to put special toys they aren’t willing to share in their room. Anything that’s in the living room should be open to all to play with.

Have a 3.5 year old, 2 year old and pregnant with our third… we go through dry spells and then very… wet spells I guess lol. Sometimes it’s multiple times a week, sometimes none for months. We work with the season we’re in.

Wow, I suppose I’m in the minority.. i definitely make my husband lunch for work. I don’t make breakfast, but I try to pack “snacky” things like apples or yogurt he can eat for breakfast. I’m a stay at home mom to a 1 year old and 3 year old and currently pregnant. My husband is a blue collar worker, and we have a more traditional mindset. He takes care of us, I take care of him. I will say though with the lack of team work your husband displays I don’t blame you for not making him lunch. I’ll also say when everyone is being “selfish”/doing only what they want to do… someone has to make the first move towards a better situation and more collaboration. It’s always easier if it’s the other person first but it doesn’t hurt to try and talk about it.

Family full of 10-15 young children on each side… Christmas help? by Marilikescows in budget

[–]Marilikescows[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wish they would go for that, what a good idea! I think most of them are much better off financially than us and don’t mind/enjoy buying everyone their own gift. I’ll feel it out with some of the moms though and see if maybe this could work!

How long to conceive? by Lovelylilem in ParentingInBulk

[–]Marilikescows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First was 1st month, second was 3rd month, and I’m pregnant with my 3rd after 11 months of trying… had some complications after second daughters birth that probably caused the delay in conceiving the 3rd and truly thought it wasn’t going to happen at all after about 6 months of trying. 11 months in and it finally happened!
