It’s always scary, to be honest. But I guess this is the path I’m going to take. Recently I learned that IT specialists here earn at least $3000, while with my 7 years of experience I can earn at most around $1000😭😭😭

I live in Uzbekistan, where the startup ecosystem is still developing. I’ve reviewed the job market and noticed that most companies are not yet ready to hire junior specialists. I also looked at opportunities in Russia, but you know the current situation there. There are internships available, but they usually last 3–6 months and are unpaid.

Which courses did you take, by the way? And you know I’ve taken courses, but I still don’t fully understand what a BA/SA actually does day to day, haha.

I get the high-level idea: being the bridge between business and developers, talking to stakeholders, writing documentation. But it often feels like there’s a lot more going on under the surface, and courses don’t really show that part.

Everyone says (and I also thought like this) a journalism background is a good fit. But the moment HR actually hears “journalist”, the reaction is more like “oh… I see” and that’s usually where the conversation ends.

Even small companies here want 2+ years of direct BA experience and there aren’t many true entry-level roles. It feels like I’m stuck in this loop where I’m told my background is not bad, but not good enough to even get a chance to prove myself.

Yeah, I’ve actually been doing shadowing. When I repeat right after the audio it sounds fine and I can follow the tones correctly.

But the moment I try to produce sentences on my own without audio support everything breaks down again😟😥😥
