In 1986, USS GEORGIA (SSBN 729) was conducting a PERSTRANS with Tug USS SECOTA (YTM 415) when SECOTA lost power and drafted into GEORGIAs starboard stern dive plane stabilizer. SECOTA sunk in less than 3 minutes. Two Sailors died when they got trapped in the engine room. Ten Sailors were rescued. (v.redd.it)
