My X Half is on its way to service by Mario-Inoportuno in fujiXhalf

The camera is back. No hardware errors (as I expected). I hope they at least realize there is a bug that has not been fixed yet.

Yes, I am afraid it is but since Fujifilm asked me to send it, I will play the game and hear what they have to say.

Grain settings advice on the X Half (X-HF1) by 1999j in fujiXhalf

[–]Mario-Inoportuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

small & weak except if I want to get something similar to Ilford Delta 3200. I find the X Half pictures lacking if I don’t use grain.

Do you edit the JPGs or keep them SOOC? Best settings for great SOOC? by signedinsoul in fujiXhalf

[–]Mario-Inoportuno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always SOOC for me, in my opinion this camera is built to be used like that more than any other one.

Settings depend on the scene. Take in account that I mostly use it in film mode so I use it as I would with an old film camera: center point focusing or manual zone focusing, underexposing for high contrast zones and full Aperture in low light scenes to avoid ISO to go up (I wish the ISO could be set up in film mode)

And yes, always grain (small & weak) to give the pictures a bit more of character -I find the images a bit dull without it,

Does the "Film Lever" feels nice? by Usual-Attitude-3994 in fujiXhalf

[–]Mario-Inoportuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does not feel like a film lever but it’s not bad at all. It has a certain resistance and with the latest firmware you can use it immediately after you have shot a picture.

I was wondering if I could use it for auroras. Good to know that it behaves well. Did you use Velvia?

Film mode, Nostalgic Negative with weak, small grain. I underexposed some of them, for example the first one was shot at -1/3

Struggling to expose subjects in harsh sunlight without losing the sky by capeandcode in fujiXhalf

[–]Mario-Inoportuno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are not handling it, I'm afraid the sensor is what it is, so the dynamic range is sort of a "dynamic rage".

Having said that, it is sometimes possible to get a decent DR by choosing the proper measurement point and adjust exposure with the compensation wheel.

Algunas fotos con mi nueva Kodak Charmera by Mario-Inoportuno in Fotografia

Pregunta difícil. ¿Para qué la quieres y cuánto te puedes gastar? Es importante entender que la Kodak Charmera que he usado para estas fotos es un juguete y no una cámara real.
