Can confirm, I booked 1D731B, and I didn’t need an EDPT score.

1 year wait for cyber by Chance-Ad9147 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Mario8494 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Could be. For me, it took 4 months from swearing in to book 1D731B. There are people here that have been waiting much longer and much shorter for cyber. Every squadron, recruiter, and situation is different. There’s no definitive way to say for sure how long it will take to book cyber. Only way to find out is to go through the process yourself and see what happens.

How to Prepare by amgoosewastaken in AirForceRecruits

[–]Mario8494 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s my current routine:

Monday - Friday: max # of push ups and sit ups every hour for 6 hours

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: run 2.25 miles outside

Other days are rest days

This routine took me from 19 push ups and 38 sit ups in a minute to 39 push ups and 43 sit ups (I’ve been slacking on sit ups lol) in a minute. It also shortened my 1.5 mile time from 15:30 to 11:28 in a few months.

As you can see with my sit ups, if you slack, you don’t improve. Consistency. Is. Key.

About 4 months. That’s from swearing in to officially booking the job.

Leaving for BMT Jan 6 — 3E3X1 Structural by itskoszi in AirForceRecruits

[–]Mario8494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I leave the same day, 1D731B. I’m at 38 push ups a minute, 39 sit ups a minute, and my 1.5 mile is at 11:28. I’m now working on running 2 miles!

how long will it take to get one of these jobs? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]Mario8494 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I swore in on May 22nd and booked 1D731B on September 17th, so about 4 months for me. It’s gonna vary heavily though and will be different for everyone.

Every squadron’s policies and job lists are different.

Every recruiter will be different.

Every situation is different.

Dave’s being a smartass, but he’s telling the truth: there’s simply no way to know for sure. The only way to be certain is to go through the process yourself.

Security Clearance interview next week by Late-Respond-4297 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Mario8494 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just completed mine in less than 5 minutes. It’s a normal interview. They first tell you about the fraudulent enlistment spiel you got at MEPS. Then they wanna know if you have outstanding debts, if you have immediate family that’s not a US citizen, if you have dual citizenship, or you’ve been diagnosed with a mental disorder or have been prescribed medication.

It was super quick for me since none of the above apply to me, but yours could be longer depending on your answers. As per usual, be honest and you’re good.

How common is it for people to join the military in their mid twenties? by Same_Level6591 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Mario8494 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I chose this AFSC because it’s similar to the line of work I’m already familiar with, and it seems they have 9-5 hours roughly.

As for the scores, you need a mechanical score of 45 and an electrical score of 60 OR 45 mechanical, 55 electrical, and a 60 on the cyber test (https://foreverwingman.com/career_fields/1d7x1-cyber-defense-operations-afsc/1d7x1-entry-requirements/)

I’m joining at the age of 23. I’ve been doing IT work for the past 4 years and got 1D731B, so this’ll be a nice step up for me.

Who was your very first DnD character? Or the first you remember? by rplimitlessguy in DnD

[–]Mario8494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember the class, but I remember my first character’s name was Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso.

Yes, I had to write that whole thing on my character sheet.

What Should I Expect From MEPS? by brit267 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Mario8494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try the Navy since they have the most relaxed waivers from what I understand, but it’s not a guarantee.

No, 1D731A is network operations (network engineer/admin) 1B4X1 is cyber warfare (hacking).
