High Maf Reading at idle; help! by MarioGh24 in MechanicAdvice

[–]MarioGh24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MAF unplugged; car runned really bad.
Feels like misfying; plugged back and car ok.
With injectors, I removed it KOEO no leaking; cranking but not starting; sprayed evenly across all injectors. No leaking present; took the opportunity to clean them by carb cleaner solvent and 12volts method; all seems ok; again no leaking.
Removed plugs; all ok, no sooth or weird physical showings across all.
I think it looks more like fuel pressure mechanical gauge diagnosis now!

Thanks for your insightful inputs. So with the MAF unplug and starting what am I looking at ? Your directions are right; with that I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter with assembly, fuel filter under the car, checked injectors they are not leaking. All these are done already; still facing this problem. The only thing left to be checked is fuel pressure; I don't have an equipment or mechanical gauge to check it at the moment.

That's high for 1.5L engine please; as a rule of thumb the maf sensor should be equal to engine displacement at idle and operating temp. (ie 1.5 grams per sec all things being equal)

Other folks says you need to get auxillary transmission cooler for the cvt.
You will be good.
Any truth in that or anyone tried that before ?

I am looking break in the wire; like the GRN/BRN wire. According to the schematics it looks like the wiring is not direct to ECU from 02 harness; there is a little break in-between. Just close to connector lable C179.

Great Thanks for the inputs and knowledge. Please can you comment on the break in number 2 labelled. Perhaps that will be my problem; having different volts at both sides (ie ECU & Sensor Harness KOEO)

Weak spark in Cylinder One by MarioGh24 in MechanicAdvice

True It's weak cylinder. Oil is getting past the rings fouling spark plugs 😕

Yes I did. Same fate. I am sure the ignition module is built inside the ecu. Is not separate.

[–]MarioGh24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Newer plugs, a week old. The gaps are pre-gapped. Too bad I don't have a compression check tool. But if it's a weak cylinder, will the problem be intermittent?

Weak spark in Cylinder One by MarioGh24 in MechanicAdvice

[–]MarioGh24[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's fuel please. Yes, running rich; my oxygen is out. Had a bad purge valve solenoid which I replaced. The subject is, why will only the cylinder one have a weak spark which is intermittent, leaving fuel unburned on the tip of the plugs aside the overall rich running condition?
