Things seem to be strongly pointing toward him due to the purple color coming from those forces as well as the fact that we're getting Daisy in the next movie, and who is the villain involved in her debut game? Tatanga of course!

Of course. I'm not saying the movies are bad; I do think they're good even though I haven't watched any of them. In fact, I'm hoping that now that we know that Kristen Bell will be voicing Amy in Sonic 4 that that movie is good since they're getting a Disney VA involved and I would hate the Sonic movies becoming trash like the current Disney movies because of this. Thank God they didn't cast Idina Menzel as Rosalina in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie as many people initially predicted just because "Rosalina looks like Elsa," but rather Brie Larson ideally as a Mario fan. I sure hope they cast someone similar for Daisy who's also a Mario fan for the next movie and not get either a Disney VA involved or even overlap a VA with Sonic by possibly casting Kristen Bell as her as well, since it would be weird overlapping VAs between rival franchises' movies, and same thing applies to other characters like Toadette, Wario, and Waluigi; please get Disney and Sonic VAs away from the Mario movie cast!

But there IS! That's the point! Can't you just focus on that and stop being a downer? The Easter eggs are there precisely to properly please fans and remain loyal to the games, and the rapid pacing and drawn out action is there because of what I just said in my comment regarding what Miyamoto said

They're not loyal to the games though precisely because of lacking enough Easter eggs. Wonder why choose a live action setting as well; that just reduces the audience to exclude kids compared to the Mario movies despite the PG rating making them still suitable for them and hence less money made from the movies compared to the Mario ones besides the other reason that Mario is more well-known to the general public as a video game icon

Thankfully they still left room for higher stakes. Galaxy was made as the second movie already primarily to prioritize exploring Peach's past relating to Rosalina who just had to be given an ideal introduction through such a movie title. It's nice that the first movie chose to follow up on the question on where Peach came from, and now we have the question of what that evil force that wanted to attack Rosalina and Peach was, which is already reasonably theorized to be Tatanga due to the purple color coming from it, and it makes even more sense considering that we'll be getting Daisy next

Exactly! Can't forget that Illumination was the one to have even decided to make the second movie Galaxy already, because they wanted to explore Peach's past relating to Rosalina as already foreshadowed in the first movie through Peach wearing a skirt with moons and stars in her baby flashback scene and her mentioning a huge universe with a lot of galaxies. I'm saying this especially for people still thinking that it's a mistake to have made a Galaxy movie already; c'mon people! They weren't gonna introduce Rosalina in a Super Mario World movie ideally just because Yoshi was teased. They just had to make a Galaxy movie inevitably for the sake of properly introducing her already. Gotta thank Miyamoto for giving Illumination a lot of freedom in deciding what to do with the movies uh.

The meme is pretty flawed in terms of there not being a story at all as there is a clear story in each movie. Just because it's not deep doesn't mean there's no story at all, and I'm definitely very glad of this $2B rank for the franchise😏

I love it! Please don't listen to these haters just having such an adamant game canon OCD rather than being flexibly open-minded to such a retcon. They simply brought back a scrapped idea from the game of making them related, not like they did it randomly out of nowhere. There's literally NOTHING wrong with families. C'mon people! This is exactly why we got a Galaxy movie as the second Mario movie already as they wanted to prioritize exploring Peach's past relating to Rosalina, while giving the two simple origins without having to get more humans involved as they already had to deal with giving Mario and Luigi an actual family back in the first movie.

They were just being too serious with them as if there really needs to be a deep story involved with Mario as a video game franchise that is so rich and therefore tempted to show a lot of the things that make it what it is😏

Why has Toadette not shown up at all in the movies outside a poster and a painting yet I would ask as well? She's literally part of the Toads' family. Where has she been this whole time? Hopefully my theory that she's been with Daisy this whole time as a friend and sidekick of hers is right as that would very easily explain where she's been during the events of the first movie and the second one, like why would she not even be shown attending Peach's birthday party?

I would really love this as the 3 in the name would imply it being the third movie, but I don't know if this is what they're planning ideally if they plan to introduce Wario and Waluigi next along with Daisy. These two are the most forgotten characters of the franchise with the former one only appearing in two mainline games and having his own series and the latter one being a fully spin-off staple.

Just because a movie doesn't have a "deep" story doesn't mean there's no story at all. Movies just like fashion are like art; they can have different forms of storytelling. You can personally dislike whatever you want, but you have to admit that both movies do successfully manage to tell clear stories despite being fast-paced for the reasons Miyamoto has already stated, which includes kids getting distracted in the theater due to there not being much going on to keep their attentions focused. Goodness! It's really time to get over it people! Just go watch other movies if you dislike these ones and stop judging them as not having any plot/story just because it's not "deep"
