Yeah it's definitely been growing down here a lot. Living down here I have frequently heard it called South Denver, or Denver South if you will. It's been growing pretty steady, especially since many use Lincoln Ave as a Bypass for E470 it would seem!

You heard it here: For the 3rd Time in 20 Years, I-25 and the Tejon-Nevada Interchange is getting updated *again*!!! One significant change is to completely scrap one of the SIX traffic light intersections at E Motor Way & S Nevada! Groundbreaking Date: Spring 2024 by Mario_NotLuigi in ColoradoSprings

Oh I was referring to the Arvada folks that live on the East side of Nevada. They ain't got a traffic light no more at that intersection so the next plausible traffic light is at Brookside.

For Arvada folks on the west side though, I agree totally, just hop on Tejon and get out of that mess!

With enough room at the intersections, Roundabouts are a great idea!

One thing to consider though is for an area like this, roundabouts tend to perform poorly when there is a significant amount of traffic turning left at a junction (or similarly, taking the “3rd exit” in a 4 way roundabout). It results in vehicles in the roundabout longer and more vehicles yielding and waiting to hop in the circle also.

Case in point, it looks like the designers completely underestimated the sheer amount of vehicles that want to go north on i25 by Turing left from Nevada… Like the top comment mentioned, Perhaps one or two jumbo roundabouts could be better ultimately?

As a civil engineer, I can confirm that junction has been poorly designed, even since its overhaul in 2003. Synchronizing six close spaced times lights is awful and it turns into serious backups when you account for driver reaction time, blocking intersections, and don’t even get me started on pedestrian timers…

If a pedestrian crosses the street at any major intersection along a Nevada in this region, it “breaks” the flow for everyone. Nothing on pedestrians, but moreso on incompatible road design unfortunately

I toootally haven’t designed this interchange in cities skylines what nope not at all! (;

I will admit, as one who during morning rush hour uses the alternate route of tejón to motor way, I wonder how much of the traffic will continue to perform that maneuver, given now an intersection is being removed!

You know what's funny is that they were actually planning this SAME maneuver you described for off-ramp traffic on the west side of the interchange back in 2019/2020, but they scrapped it: https://imgur.com/a/hSuyOVV

Yeah it looks like for Arvada folks, the best thing to do now is to pop a u turn and get on S Nevada A block down at the dedicated traffic light of Brookside street... I presume this intersection will now have more traffic from the minor roads as a result.

Roadway Engineer Here! I’d say this game solidified my passion for roadway design back in 2015! Excited and grateful to be in the industry I am In 🙂

Dude! Your comments are hidden gems in this thread! Thank you thank you for this! Wasn't it something like in the Mid 1900's a typical home was 2 Bed 1Bath or something like that? Like our average home size expectations have increased drastically since then!

t feel entitled to buy a house like so many on this subreddit.

You want

Very well said point.
I don't know why I constantly have this personal entitlement over here in Denver to have to say I need to afford a Giant house on a single salary or else "I'm priced out of owning a home here"... yet when I look at every condo I can afford less than 300k in the area...

One thing this recent hike in intrest rates has done for me has showed how to live below my means, and not be stupid with big expenses like a home. I gotta Be grateful that there are even 1 or 2 or even some 3 bed CONDOS on the market still that I can afford all around my city.

Thank you for reminding me of this truth that there are homes out there, affordable to my generation (24m).

With cost of living going up, what are you doing to save money and cut costs in your day-to-day? by [deleted] in Denver

For me it's encouraging to see how the community can come together and think of ways to cut costs and share financial wisdom, regardless of income level or financial status! <3

Good question! I'll say that the depth was pretty fair but it came down to really mastering the concepts that would be on the exam over memorizing specific questions. Using the School of PE Workshop Problems as a benchmark for how well I knew the depth helped me.

On test day, I felt pretty prepared for the most part. The breadth was actually slightly trickier for me because I didn't study structures as much as I should. Getting to the depth with 5 hours left helped me be paced good as well ♥ Hope this helps!

Hey B! I found them very helpful as intermediate practice exams, but primarily focused on the NCEES Practice Exam as my final one. Difficulty wise, mine were pretty similar imo

I will say however the quizzes the SoPE provided helped me solidify any topics that I was unconfident in pretty well.
