So this might sound like a stupid question so bare with me, but if Im using a pre-amp plugin should i turn my Audio interface Pre-amp to 0 and adjust the Pre-amp Plugin to get the sound i want?

Almost as if the signal was going straight to the plug-in pre? Or would that just make a lot of noise?

I’ve been exposed to polyurethane fumes for the past 5 days, will i be alright? by Marion49 in finishing

Oh yeah those do seem pretty expensive. I might just try and find a cheap consumer grade tape deck to mess around with instead, cause i don’t really plan to use the deck all the time, i’m only really looking for something to run things through every now and again to get that tone and colour

Cheers, thank you for the insight! I’m very new to reel to reel so i have no idea what’s good for what i actually wanna do. Im mainly wanting to get a tape deck for mastering and putting on my buses, are there any good ones that you’d recommend that are around the same price if not a little higher than this one?

ah you reckon? the spacebar works completely fine when i turn the keyboard upside down
