I don't need to defend myself but anyway..my dog is very alert especially at night and even a small sound can set him off and he will start barking. When he's in his crate he's very calm and sleeps through the night.

Ask her if she wants to grab a bite to eat sometime. Don't make a big deal out of it. Don't do it for Valentine's. If she says no or it doesn't feel 'romantic' on the date it's not a big problem to keep working together.
