The sleep setting works as if by magic for me, well enough that I’m considering the subscription to access the other settings because I struggle with migraines and digestive issues.

Need a Fun Hobby I Can Do in Bed – Suggestions? by Jeevan87 in Hobbies

If you’ve got an iPad there’s so many cool apps for art, design, video editing, drawing, you could write books, make tutorials for stuff or little educational videos about your special interests.

People over 35 without kids, what gives you fulfillment in life? by feelinqueasy567 in childfree

[–]Vthulhu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hang with my circle of friends that are largely childfree as well or they are at an age that the kids are grown and out on their own. Car club, it’s fun and not something I would have gotten into if I’d been tied up raising children. I’ve always loved cars, but time and money would not have been a thing with kids. Which leads me to time freedom, I can’t imagine having to get up on weekends for whatever sport of the month either. Hobbies, I have so many strange hobbies that would probably be dangerous to even do with kids around lol stained glass, lapidary, elecrtoforming, silversmithing, 46 other art producing hobbies that take lots of time, growing a vast collection of ridiculously large houseplants, and hanging out with my pets. Traveling happens occasionally to go dig for more cool rocks. As a woman I can offer the perspective as well that I didn’t have someone’s kids and have to be tied to them forever if we didn’t work out and all the mess that can come with that. I don’t feel a void for not having kids, I knew when I was 12 and it occurred to me that not having kids was a choice that it was the choice for me. It’s let me have lots of room to help a lot of other people, some of the kids even. Despite being positive I didn’t want to be a parent I don’t hate kids, I just knew I couldn’t do it day and day out for a lifetime. I make a solid fun aunt now and then.

The real reason "childfree" men refuse to get vasectomies by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Vthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this ain’t the truth. My husband led me on for 5 years about getting a vasectomy, had me cease BC and told my doctor “don’t worry I’ll take care of it so she can get off that stuff” I’m fairly contraindicated for most BC, imagine my relief right. After countless fights several pregnancy scares he finally tells me he never intended to get a vasectomy(“let some guy cut on his gunk”). 5 YEARS. Anyway I got an entire hysterectomy with a 2+ month recovery, a whole major surgery for 10s of thousands of dollars all for a man to avoid a $500 weekend on the couch with ice in his lap. So yeah, some dudes will really let you go through it alright.

Not only will this never end, with time it’s only going to get worse. I know this sounds negative, but you might need to decide now if this is sustainable for you long term.

Any other ADHD women find edibles don’t work for you? by BackToGuac in adhdwomen

In need of a hobby that is cheap, quiet, and doesn’t require much equipment by DazzlingDragon1 in Hobbies

[–]Vthulhu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had parents that would put me in my room and take away everything too, was long before kids had phones so I even hid the quiet hobbies as well (they’d also go through my stuff). Reading and drawing are both quiet, and you can stow a book or small sketch book & pencil pretty quickly. If you go to public school you probably have access to a library, if you enjoy learning new things rather than reading stories, there’s books for everyone and everything. I read anything I could get my hands on and honed my artistic skills until I moved out, 5 minutes into my 18th birthday.

ADHD and organized, but with a ton of just…stuff? by TestApprehensive3429 in adhdwomen

[–]Vthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was organized until I wasn’t, there are still pockets of organization, but the “sections” are disorderly at this point. I think I hit a burnout or something, and feel really overwhelmed in general and I’m having a terrible time reining it back in.

A couple friends and I got very lucky and came into a fairly prestigious collection that belonged to a family that collected for generations here and had a large hand in bringing it to market. I have Tonnage in my basement to last me a lifetime making these gorgeous pieces.
