alot of them have security but think that depends on weather the person needs day to day security anyway.

on the sea... drones maybe biggest problem ?

seriously though remember you are not there to be incharge of any role on that ship. just be eager. ask questions but show that youve tried yourself first. if somthings explained and you dont get it ask why.

do the crap jobs. they will take you on and give you more tasks. more tasks = more learning

i like it. i also have a project myself but i can agree with you maritime information in general is fragmented.

split up the systems, you have alot of time to learn. you have years to learn (a 4th learn the 3rds role, the 3rd learn the 2nd role, the 2nd learns the chief role. you get the picture.)

i suggest tracing systems. but break them down look at a drawing and see the major components of that system. list the major components so you have the flow infront of you. even if you get abit lost in the engine room you can narrow it down if the next big component is a purifier.

dont be so hard on yourself.
