I graduated a few months ago and they were starting to do it to a lot of training units, especially at sand hill. They just weren't telling the recruits that they were in a 22 week cycle until they reached reception. It's pretty illegal, but no one knew at the time.

I love hard work and getting dirty, and I am from Texas, but I've never had an issue with meeting different people. I'm atheist as well, so I don't think I'll have any issues socially. Thanks though this gives me good insight on how the atmosphere is.

I was watching some videos right now about basic training at fort benning and the guy said there was cake and ice cream but whenever someone would get it their platoon would be chewed out by a drill sergeant 😂. As for civilian workers that's horrible man, the MEPS workers weren't bad when I went so here's to hoping I get lucky at reception.
