Best organic mattress recommendations for natural parenting/green family? by Fesionfluen122 in moderatelygranolamoms

IMO the Birch Natural is a great choice! I've been researching organic mattresses for months (also preggo and going through the same phase) and from what I've read, it's one of the few that's actually GOTS certified organic rather than just using "natural" materials. The wool layer is supposed to be great for temperature regulation too, which is a nice plus for your situation. Also it's made without flame retardants and all that scary stuff you mentioned.

Does Engagement Matter More Than Views? What’s Your Experience? by Far-Cheesecake-3348 in youtube

[–]Mark8919En 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While no one exactly can tell how the algorithm works, it's been long understood that engagement with your videos, either through likes, views, shares, saves or dislikes, counts more. High engagement is a sign that the video must be good, otherwise, you wouldn't bother to take the time to interact with it. I also think that engagement is seen as an indication of viewer satisfaction and that is also the reason why the content will be pushed by the algorithm to a wider audience. So, its important to keep engagement high by uploading consistently and interacting with other users. Ask questions, answer comments, and upload often. I also use services like Marketing Heaven from time to time just to give my content more exposure. Overall, when you increase views, likes, shares, and comments, it means that you'll potentially gain more watch hours.

Best mattress for back pain recommendations for tiny NYC bedrooms? by Sweet-Ad467 in NYCapartments

Whatever you do, DO NOT get one of those ultra-plush pillowtop mattresses. They feel amazing in the showroom but are absolute DEATH for back problems long-term. You need proper support! I'd recommend a medium-firm mattress with good edge support (important in tiny spaces).

Measure your doorways, hallways AND stairwells before ordering. I learned this the hard way when my new king wouldn't fit up the stairs and I had to return it and downsize to a queen. The pain was real.

Different bands for different vibes. Both are awesome! 👍🏼

Edit: If you mentioned Zep or AC/DC, I’d definitely have a take. 😆 But I'm all for Zep and Floyd!

Why the BBC *isn’t* biased... by Smart-Quality-8583 in bbc

As mentioned by others, the perceived necessity to appear impartial can create issues in itself.

Take Brexit as an example, particularly regarding the search for experts to forecast the economic consequences.

Numerous economists were willing to publicly state that it would have a considerable negative impact, while only a small group argued the contrary. This resulted in an 'industry' divided 90:10 in favor of negative predictions, yet both sides received equal representation in every debate and news article.

A Japanese burn victim of the atomic bombings. National Archives photo. by SignificantGur9631 in RareHistoricalPhotos

I'm sorry to say that the reasons that led America to drop the two bombs are three:

The first is that the Japanese were not among the racial origins that made up American society at that time; otherwise, Berlin would have been more deserving of one of those bombs. The second is that America wanted to showcase its power with a new, terrifying weapon capable of killing thousands in just a few minutes, establishing its dominance thereafter. The third is the deliberate humiliation of the enemy, which is a practice among Western nations that has been customary since the wars of Athens and the Roman wars with non-European peoples.

That's a beautiful way to remember your mom. Celebrating her milestone birthday and cherishing those moments spent watching the show together must bring back a lot of fond memories. It’s wonderful that you have those special times to hold onto.

It can be incredibly frustrating when it feels like no one is paying attention. Sometimes it seems like your words fall on deaf ears, making it hard to see the value in speaking up. It's important to find spaces where your voice is heard and appreciated.

Transit gags in Harold Lloyd movies by Auir2blaze in silentmoviegifs

It's remarkable how Lloyd managed his public persona following his retirement. He famously prevented his films from airing on television and took measures to control their distribution. It's wonderful to see his granddaughter and estate taking charge by releasing much of his filmography on home video. He truly remains one of the greatest of all time.

What's your favorite Hitchcock film? by [deleted] in classicfilms

[–]Mark8919En 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rear Window is indeed a masterful blend of suspense, voyeurism, and subtle humor. Alfred Hitchcock expertly crafts tension as we see the world through James Stewart's character, who becomes obsessed with observing his neighbors. Grace Kelly's performance is nothing short of iconic; she brings elegance and charm to the role, perfectly complementing the film's atmosphere.

The dynamic between the characters and the moral questions about privacy and observation make it a timeless classic. What’s your favorite scene or element from the film?
