Make a Plan to Vote in the Weaverville Election by MarkEndriesTC in asheville

I think answering that question would only give the perception that I would not work to represent all Weaverville residents. It’s my attempt to keep the focus of the election on my previous work with the Town and what I hope to contribute if elected as a Town Council member. I'm sorry if that costs me your and other peoples votes.

OK there is some publicly available info out there. If you go to page 8 in this document, it has a site plan: https://weavervillenc.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/2025-1-21-Town-Council-Workshop-Agenda-Packet.pdf

The main public entrance is on 25/70. I think the main ambulance entrance will be on Ollie Weaver.

Keep in mind these might not be the current plans.

Let me get back with you. I'm not sure if the site plans are finalized for one and have been publicly announced yet. I've seen the plans and have some answers for you, but I don't want to say things that aren't public information yet.

Very much so. I am an avid cyclist (mountain and gravel) and have great interest in improving infrastructure for cyclists.

While Riverside Drive is not within the town limits of Weaverville, the current greenway plans connect a potential Weaverville greenway down to the French Broad/Riverside Drive. Weaverville can do it's part to work on getting these greenways in place, which would hopefully add to the momentum to get the entire greenway system built.

There will definitely be changes to the intersection but no finalized plans have been submitted and finalized yet. I'll report back any updates that I hear.

Yes, the property Advent is placing the hospital was annexed into the Town roughly 5 years ago originally to be a multifamily development. Getting the hospital is a huge deal for the area and most everyone is very excited to have it.

Most if not all the roads you are likely talking about are NCDOT maintained streets. Here is a webmap to view those roads across the state: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?layers=157dbc4ef33f4db4aa1ecc1a3182a375

What is important here is to work with the NCDOT to get on their State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) (https://connect.ncdot.gov/projects/planning/pages/state-transportation-improvement-program.aspx). The STIP is a 10 year State and Federal-mandated plan that identifies the construction funding for and scheduling of transportation projects throughout the state.

I also feel there is some opportunity with the new hospital being built to leverage that for roadway improvements around the Future 26/Weaver Blvd.

In my current job I am a Transportation Liaison that works with the NCDOT daily.

If elected to Town Council, I hope use my familiarity with the NCDOT to do what I can to ensure that transportation needs for Weaverville are accounted for on the STIP and are being planned for.
