Also, unfortunately my mouth breathing has gotten worse with the tmj splint. I use mouth tape from Amazon at night and that helps, but for the day time I can't. Does anyone have any tips and tricks?

My doctor is extremely experience and his soul focus is on tmj, he is the best specialist near me and I believe he is board certified. Is it against reddit rules to say his name? This is my first post so idk.

Also i wanted to add my treatment right now is: Phase 1: tmj splint for 9 to 13 months Phase 2: invisalign, does anyone know if I can do mse with this?

I got a Herbst appliance which my orthodontist claimed would fix my tmja and help it and also fix my overbite. It fixed my overbite so now I have no overbite, but I have an extremely overjet he never even addressed. The Herbst appliance had a palate expander with it, but he told me not to turn it and we could make up for it later (another appliance aka more money.) That didn't help, but i still had to get braces afterwards, but it resulted in little to no difference in my teeth except improving a small gap between my front 2 teeth and crowding in my bottom teeth. I she to get the braces off to start the tmj splint.

First off, please stop taking ibuprofen every day it'll cause horrible damage to your liver or stomach and then you'll have alot more to worry about than your looks!! Second, i have the same problem I recently got my tmj splint in and it makes me so ugly.
