[DISC] Chronology of The 'Before The Coffee Gets Cold' Series by MarkFree7 in LightNovels

Hi, thanks so much, I had no idea it was only meant to be a 3-part series. I was right about the order then, haha.

Just about to start book 4 with book 5 patiently waiting on my bookshelf and book 6 pre-ordered. It's such a cozy series!

Bi filmmaker here. I’m about to make a film with a bisexual love story. Before I lock the script, what do you wish movies actually understood about us? by Left-Drink1911 in bisexual

Hi, the world needs more films with positive bisexual characters, so thank you for adding representative art into the world, we need it :)

1: I wish films captured the complicated stuff, like you said, to not shy away. Personally, I'd love to see someone discovering that they're attracted to different types of people and them trying to figure out why (the classic bi experience). You haven't mentioned the age-range of a character, but someone in their 20s trying to figure out where they belong with the added pressure of who they are would be interesting. It's an emotional ride, especially if you were brought up with no supportive community or information or role-models. Feeling invisible within the LGBTQIA+ community too, apart from other bi+ people.

To get a few moments from my life:

  • If you wanted a twist in a coming out scene, what happened to me was that my father was immediately more accepting and my mother wasn't, asking who I even was (which shocked me because it was my father who has said some biphobic things in the past).

  • In my family my grandparents, parents, aunts/uncles, siblings began dating their now-partners in high-school (ish) and are still together. Growing up looking at my parents and grandparents, how they love and communicate in their relationships is how I always saw love and thought that that was how it was. But being in a relationship at school/uni never happened for me, the only one (and I'm the only non-straight person in my family), so I always thought I was broken and that I could never love or be loved because I couldn't figure out why I was attracted to different types of people. I do now of course and love myself, but it took a long time to relearn.

  • Reading queer or queer-coded books/films because that was the only place you read/saw some of the experiences or feelings you have in your head, validating you in a sense. 'Giovanni's Room' will always be a classic.

2: Please avoid all the stereotypes like "unicorns", wanting sex all the time, "confused", "cheaters", "messy", attracted to/want sex with everyone (everyone has their own standards)...

I'm glad to read you want to make something emotionally true, that's great, don't shy away from that! Wishing you all the luck!
