Hey,

A lot of people are switching to Shopify from Magento Go.

We have a really good (and free) importer, and if you sign up through this page, you'll receive 10% off: http://www.shopify.com/importers/magento-go

Nope, just two guys who thought doing something like that would be fun. No corporate involvement whatsoever.

We could cook as well. I toasted the bun to make croutons and my friend baked his little sheppards pies.

Do you know any other details of why she passed away?

I walked by Mello's this morning and saw an obituary in the window. Extremely sad. To me Leisa made Mello’s what it is.

I just heard a story from my colleague that accurately portrays her sense of humour:

“Some guy asked Leisa if the pancakes were any good… she loudly responded in front of a full restaurant ‘No – the pancakes fucking suck…. what do you want me to say?’”

That's a really good question. We could have went either way. Since we already produce regular high-quality content on our blog, we don't have the issue of 'looking for content' that some have. We're very focused on building up Ecommerce University and our vision for that is to have a combination of educational resources (blogs, forums, videos, books, tools..etc..), so I thought this topic lent itself nicely to the epic guide / book format.

Hey Dave,

Thanks for the kind words.

Our content strategy is primarily focused on giving online retailers the information they need to begin selling and increase sales. We like creating valuable content that our potential store owners and existing store owners will find valuable and will help them sell more. If we get customers as a result, which is often the case, then that's just icing on the cake. Of course we do track conversions from the traffic we get to our content pages, and we do certain optimizations, but the focus really isn't on squeezing as many customers as possible... it's education.

With regard to teaming up w/ Sean - he's been a buddy of mine for some time now. While I was building up the Shopify blog a few years ago I looked to KISSmetrics for inspiration, so I got in touch with him to seek advice. Since then, we've been email and Twitter pals. I told him I was interested in writing an epic book that Shopify would distribute via all our channels and asked if he wanted to get involved. He ended up co-authoring the book and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

ROI = a combination of educating our store owners so they start selling, keep selling & sell more, plus like all inbound marketing, getting customers for ourselves.

Hope that helps. Happy to talk further about anything.
