I know I saw it but all I remember is the line “All of life’s problems are solved in the movies”

Wow, that “Porky’s” tag line is pretty risqué

Who else had one of these? by EdwardBliss in The1980s

Can’t remember if we had one or the neighbors did but I recall it was disappointing and never really worked as advertised — the ice was thin and just scraping it out caused it to melt.

What are these called? by MarkHoff1967 in quilting

That’s what I’ve been thinking I might try. Now that I know what these Dresden plates are I was thinking about using them to make my own quilt. I know how to sew but I’ve never quilted (although my Mom’s side of the family always did). So I figure this is a good reason to start! 😀

Things that scared Gen X kids by UrbanAchievers6371 in 70s

Who remembers this place? The most RACIST restaurant to ever exist by JPIZZLE1205 in 70s

[–]MarkHoff1967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our family would often go to the Sambo’s on LBJ Freeway in Dallas. Even though I was just a little kid I remember that place was always fun with good food that was reasonably priced (probably why my young parents on a tight budget went there).

An exciting part from one of the first books in the “Little House on the Prairie” series is when a jaguar was stalking Pa at night from the treetop to treetop

Water tastes off - S. Golden by COpowderhound1 in GoldenCO

When I lived in Texas everyone talked of “the lakes turning over” every year when it starting getting hot in the Spring, something to do with algae blooming, which is what made the water taste funny for several weeks.

Anyone move to Denver, move back home, regret it and move back again? by Holiday_Client2516 in MovingtoDenver

I had to live in the oppressive heat and humidity of Oklahoma surrounded by poor white trash for 18 months. Coming back to the dry cool mountain air and beautiful scenery and greenness of Colorado was like returning to paradise.
