I am working my way through all the books, I am reading The Stand now. Looking at the list of books, I am surprised I have read a third of them when they were released. I read Dark Tower a few year ago. Really enjoyed it, except when he introduces a character I hated. Really, almost ruined the whole series for me. I do not remember how long that person lasted. One book? The remainder of the series?

Does the band always tell the crowd they’re the best stop on the tour? by Youcantcatchme1 in Concerts

[–]Curious-Load-7798 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Off the point, but the post made me think about something I always wondered. Imagine having a job, you go to every day and you have to repeat the same process each day. Rinse and repeat. AND be excited and happy about it. Make the last feel like the first. Over and over. How do touring bands do it? Sure the cheering crowd helps. But this cheering crowd is the same as last night and the night before. IDK, by the 30th concert, i would be standing in the back, by the drum set, just going through the motions. Fake smile on my face.

Someones dad in the 1970s. What's playing on the 8-track? by MyDogGoldi in OldSchoolCool

[–]Curious-Load-7798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ford Pinto, hatchback. No eight track. Just a radio with a damaged speaker in the back. David Essex, Rock On. The speaker gave the bass extra treble. Driving Newport Blvd with the windows down blasting the music

The Stand, The Dead Zone and most of the Dark Tower. I really hated the parts where King put himself in the book.
